I don't know whether I'm anxious or nervous or excited. I think I'm all 3. I am just trying to take this all in, what about the rest of you guys? It feels like the entire city is on edge and amped up today, doesn't it? I mean, listen to the radio, watch the news, it just feels like 1997 today. I CANT WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Win or lose, I'm trying to enjoy this entire day. But we better Frickin win!!!!!!!!!!!!

Isn't it funny how the wings have a habit of getting under a team's skin so much that even off the ice they run their mouths about something? It happened to all 4 teams we played last year, and really it's happened to 4 teams this year lol.

Here's an interesting question: So, last year, the Pens fans stuck around to watch the Cup be awarded. It's a little different here because the Wings fans have seen a lot of cups won in the last 12 years. Do you think that the JLA crowd would boo louder than ever and/or get up and leave the rink instead of watch the ceremony? I mean, public enemy number 1 (Bettman) and public enemy number 2 (Crosby), and then the agony of defeat of the home team...too much to bear. What do you all think?

To have to watch Bettman hand the cup to Crosby on our ice, would be the ultimate kick in the teeth. I will be shutting my TV off if that happens to occur.

I'm so nervous I'm gonna puke and we still got about 18 hours to go.

If the wings really need some kind of speech to get up for this game, then we have more problems than we thought. The wings should play their best game tomorrow, no questions asked, no excuses. There's nothing bigger. You're playing 1 game for the cup, winner takes ALL. How could you need any more motivation? I would think if anyone's going to be nervous in this game, it's going to be the Pens. They're the young team with virtually no experience. I trust Babcock, have been saying that all along. He'll have the guys prepared. It's the final game of the year, crowd going to be nuts on a Friday night at the Joe. It's set up perfectly for us to win.

I don't buy all this crap about the wings having all of the pressure on them and the Pens have nothing to lose. F that. The Pens lost last year, and they have everything to lose if they lose tomorrow night as well. The wings are already the champs. We take it for granted sometimes our successes. We are spoiled. We should appreciate the wings and what they've done getting all the way back here and 1 game away from repeating. To me, the pressure should really be on the Penguins if you think about it. They haven't won, and if they lose a 2nd straight year, then they should be hammered for it. The wings, really, should have somewhat of a free pass. It'd suck to get this close and lose the cup, but again, we've won so much for so long, and we won it last year. WIth that being said, like mr dicksmack says, finally there's a new situation for the wings. They have not faced a stanley cup championship game 7. That's about the only thing they haven't seen in their wonderful run. The only other thing I can think of that they have not accomplished is being down 3-0 in a series and winning it .

I think it's 60/40 in our favor. They have more hunger (naturally), but we have the experience, the home ice advantage, the last change, and we have Babcock. In babcock I trust. Now, last night I was feeling pretty crappy. This morning, I took a step back and tried to look at the full picture. Let's take this in, guys. We are the reigning champs right now. We had a great run last year, and a great one this year. This is the final game of the season either way. If we win, that's awesome. But if we lose, you know what, the wings had a hell of a run and it's been super exciting. Here's to anxiety attacks and panic attacks until Friday night! Edit: I just wanted to say one more thing: If the wings don't win, and we have to watch Bettman hand the cup to Crosby on OUR ice, I'm shutting it off. I'll be disgusted. And I think most fans at JLA would get up and walk out. Those are the 2 most hated people right now.

Maybe the Wings will think about this and let it stir up that drive they had in game 5 and kill the Pens. I don't know...it's a 50/50 tossup at this point imho...I'm sure glad the game 7 is in our house though.

It's a win-win for them because if they lose, the league will make more commercials making it appear they won. lol

It'd be a travesty if the Pens win the cup, because they're not ready. They aren't disciplined, they aren't 2-way players, they are a bunch of babies. But, now it comes down to bad breaks in a game 7. Just peachy.

No, YOU GUYS are unbelievable. THIS IS NOT GAME 5, AND THIS IS NOT THE WCF. Seriously!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Boy are some of you overconfident. How can you guys brush the Pens off in this game 7? We steamrolled them in game 5 and them losing their composure had a ton to do with it. They aren't going ot lose their composure in game 7 with the cup on the line. They don't get another opportunity if they lose. It's just not going to happen. I expect they're going to bring their best game. I mean for God's sake, we steamrolled them in 5, and they came back tonight and played solid and didn't lose their composure. So how can you guys say they'll lose their composure next game? No logic. The thing we have going for us is we get the last change which appears to be big. But they have the hunger. It's pretty obvious that we've seen hunger in spurts this year, but just like tonight, they decided to take the night off. WIn or lose I still think that we aer the better team, but the thing that scares me is the HUNGER factor. The desire to win the cup. They should have more desire, naturally, because they didn't win last year. We won and have been winning cups. It's tougher for us to match that intensity. The wings have not been involved in a game 7 stanley cup game.

That was game 5. This is game 7. The Cup is on the line. They won't be losing their composure again.

What happens if we don't win game 7? Is this an epic collapse or what? Everyone's talking like "oh, we'll win don't worry" but everything is on the line now. The Pens are not going to lose their composure, they're going to bring everything they have, and it's going to be a toss-up...game 7s usually are.

We're the better team, but they have more desire. It's only human nature. We've been on top for years and years, have tons of cup rings, and they have not experienced it. They are more hungry. That scares the hell out of me for game 7.

i'm not fully blaming Hossa tonight. The entire team, except for Z and Datsyuk, looked sluggish and care-free. No urgency at all until 4 minutes left in the game. I hope they just want to win the cup in front of the fans or whatever. The fans better be jumping. This is a situation that this team HAS NOT FACED in its cup runs...a game 7 stanley cup game. While I don't blame Hossa for this loss, I don't understand how a guy who wants to win the cup so badly hasn't shown it. He'd better be injured like i said, because otherwise there's no excuse.

Well, IF we win the cup, we know what the commercial will be all next year...MAF making the stop on Cleary...

Are you serious? DO you really think the refs are going to decide THIS game 7? You're nuts. The refs will put the whistles away and let the teams decide game 7...

I have faith in the wings, but the thing that worries me is what we saw tonight, the Pens have more desire to win the cup because they haven't won one. Game 7 is going to be unbelievable.

What a pathetic goal to give up by Kennedy. He outhustled a bunch of wings to score that goal. We might as well get smoked in this game because maybe they'll be motivated in game 7.

Yeah let's keep this all in perspective. Despite being badly outshot, and outchanced, and out hit, and out played, and out PP'd, we are down 1-0 thanks go Ozzie. I'd probably take that if it was offered to me before the start of the game. Wings are very strong in 3rd periods. Maybe the Pens will sit back and kill themselves. They are young after all.
