YOu have to give Pit some credit, we all do. They're playing opportunistic, and their strategy is clearly to draw all the penalties they can, because they can't do s*** against us 5 oin 5. Great, Bettwoman is on.

It's the ice. Did you see how th epuck was bouncing like a rubber ball the entire first period? Horrid... It probbably jumped, and just as it fell to the ice, caught the lip of his glove and bounced back out. Happens sometimes. We aer VERY lucky we aren't down right now...

I'm quite surprised at the refereeing in this game. I thought last game was suspect, but this is really pathetic. Honestly... Malkin trips Z, Helm gets tripped, Lidstrom gets charged, nothing. Amazing. And it's Mc Creary out there...I thought for sure that would be better.

Lidstrom gets hammered and the puck iks nowhere near him RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE REF and they look at it and don't call it. Unbelievable.

Nice Dive, Malkin. At first I thought it was good penalty until i saw the repllay, his legs just seemed to crumble. I think Pens strategy is to try to draw all the penalties possible, since they're most successful on the PP against us...it's pretty obvoius dating back to last game as well.

Not sure that Hossa wills core today but he's going ot be a big reason we win today. Datsyuk gets 2-3 pts tonight. He looks fired up and ready to prove something to me. 5-2 Detroit. (I predicted 4-2 loss the other day, lets hope I stay on my 'right' streak)

I think alot of us say the same thing about Crosby that Pit people say about Ovechkin...he only plays offense. lol See the zetterberg goal from game 3. Left him wide open for 5 seconds, staring at him. Didn't try to defend. Crosby is not a complete player yet. If they want to push a player from Pit, they should be pushing Malkin.

Detroit seems to play very passive once the opponent gains the zone with puck control. Maybe they should force the play a bit more...i dont' know.

Ozzy allowed 3 goals. Big deal. All of them he was screened, 2 were on the power play, in which we're somewhere around 50% in killing penalties. He'll allow no more than 2 tomorrow. Don't be surprised if he gets a shutout either.

It's amazing that every hockey fan on the planet in unison agrees with each other that Bettman is the wrong man leading the NHL.

I think he needs to get in there if he's close to 100%. We can use his speed, defense, PK ability, and face off (puck possession) skills. He is missed for sure. I'm not sure who to take out of the lineup for him though, not really sure if we should take Leino out or not. It depends if the big guns are going to get ti going or not...

Of course he was targeting the refs, I agree 100%, but that's our coach. That's how he gets his points across...in a witty way. He doesn't come out like Therien or Hitchcock and sound like a complete whiner. I love Babs for the way he handles questions. Bottom line, the Pens only got 1 more power play. We suck ass on our PK. The weakness on this team this year is the PK, and I'm disgusted with that aspect of our game. Calls and non-calls were missed on both sides, some more obvious than others. But we dominated 2nd period and we didn't score. It's our fault. Fans have every right to complain about the refs. None of us are the professionals, and that's why i don't buy the argument "you call out Crosby for whining yet your'e doing it). He's the professional and he's a captain. We as fans after an emotional and passionate game have a right to complain, but after we all calm down, rationality should set back in. I think all things considered, the refing has not been that much of a factor in the series...not really, not in the big picture. The call on Ericcson is annoying because far worse things were let go in the game, then they seemingly call a weak ass penalty in period 3 of a game with a lot riding on it. But if you look at the play separately, it's definitely interference. That's my take on it.

Yeah, i'm not as upset with the Ericcson call in terms of the call itself. It was technically an interference I guess, if you read the rule verbatim. The problem I have is there were far worse things going on in the game that were let go, and then a ref decides, oh, i feel like making this call THIS TIME. I'm even angrier about our horrid PK. Good news is McCreary is refereeing next game I believe, and he tends to be pretty fair. Should be a benefit for us.

I think our PK has sucked all regular season and playoffs...it hasn't been good at all this season.

My issue with what you said is, it's not the Wings or the Pens players job to watch if there's 6 men from the opponent on the ice. The linesmen are supposed to be making sure there aren't more than 6 out there. For whatever reason, both were mesmorized by the play.

I agree with you. 5 hole goals make the goalie look bad, but it takes a lot of time, relatively speaking, to squeeze those legs together when the puck is coming at you 50-100 mph... I'm not going to fault him on any of the goals tonight. I think he'll allow 1-2 goals on Thursday and we'll win...he always comes back hard the next game.
