I think it is a mismatch like last year, but the fact that the Pens have the experience from last year should make them hungrier. Also, if we're banged up, that tends to level things out. The wings are the most dominant PUCK POSSESSION team in the league, so that will help in keeping Crosby and Malkin away from the net. The other thing that worries me is the wings playing 60 minutes. I sure hope they bring it for 60 minutes in all the SCF games, since it doesn't get better than this.

They just said on 97.1 that someone (didn't catch where) is reporting Khabi and Havlat are out for tonight, and Huet is starting goalie. Why don't they just forfeit? lol

Uh, I believe the NHL players and coaches ranked Lidstrom and Datsyuk in the top 5 in the league, and Zetterburg was 6th. Malkin and Crosby were ranked 7th and 8th. I'd say we have 3 superstars...

You should go back to the thread a year ago and find all of the stuff Pens fans were saying before the series started, such as what was just said. List them out and see how many are exactly the same as this year.

Could you imagine if Crosby wins the cup this year on OUR ice? It would be horrible enough to lose to the Pens, but to watch Crosby of all players, take and hoist the cup on our ice would be criminal...

I think the Wings will be on Malkin and Crosby like glue. If you shut those two down, you should be able to steamroll the rest of that team with the talent that Detroit has.

And apparently, I'm not the only one worried about the refs when facing the pens.

And what if both of these WCF and ECF series went 7? How are they going to cram a 7 game series into 10 days if they were to start on June 5? If they were going to cram it somehow by playing a couple pairs of back to back games, then do that, but give the teams the rest, they've earned it. I'm sorry, but I call BS. I'm gonnag o ahead and be the first (unless someone else already brought it up) to say that our first NHL consipiracy to get the Pens every opportunity to win the finals is happening. We hear that our 2 best players are out, and the league suddenly wants to move the start date up to Saturday, AND have back to back games here. Hmmm. Doesn't that strike anyone else as odd? I think teams that finish their series early EARN that rest off.

If I were a Pens fan I would probably hate HOssa as well, alot like how alot of Wings fans are pissed at Fedorov...except that motivation was for money, and ego, not to win a cup.

Yeah, I think he uses the wrong word to get his point across. Last I heard, you were allowed to stand your ground, you're just not allowed to move and purposely try to impede the pathway to the puck. If Hossa leaves a puck for someone then keeps skating or gliding, that's not interference. If Hossa tries to purposely block the player to the puck, then it's interference. I don't think Eddie did a good job of expressing his point.

What did you expect to find here? Objectively speaking, the Wings, with this same core for the most part, and having been tagged as the best sports organization, have won 4 cups in 11 years, about to possibly make it 5 in 12, and are still labeled as the best team in the NHL. These are facts. How do you expect anyone other than Pens fans to think the Wings are not going to win this series? I mean honestly dude come on. The Pens will have to pry that cup from the Wings' fingers. And you know what, if they do, hey, all the respect and congratulations to them. But the statistics, accolades, and shear vast experience of the Wings will say otherwise.
