Red Hot Pens team? I thought the Pens were a hotter team at this time last year. Didn't they only lose 1 or 2 playoff games before facing Detroit? I think so. This year, they battled more adversity and it may have made them a bit stronger in that regard, but they didn't do a whole lot to upgrade themselves other than just the experience of last year. I'm not too worried. I was mostly worried about Anaheim, and I don't see how the Pens are better than Anaheim, honestly. If this were a Anaheim/Pens matchup, I'd pick Anaheim hands down to win the series.

I was just over on the blackhawk board and it's laughable reading them talking about the refs. I mean seriously, they were going out of their way to interfere with and deliberately elbow players, etc and they don't expect to get called? Come on. And 20 of those minutes were misconducts which don't result in a PP anyway. Laughable. And suddenly they are saying the league is in a love fest with the Red Wings. Yah right. When was the last commercial we saw of us hoisting the cup? And they are in a love fest with us? I mean seriously. Hawks fans, take some damn accountability for yourselves. You guys gooned it up. Suffer the consequences. And I'm sick of hearing that the Hawks have the same skill as Detroit when it's really not even close. The series will be over in 5 and you won a game that you blew a 3-0 lead in 4:32 and barely won the one game. Seriously, your team has a ways to go. It was a nice run this year for you, but bye bye. Don't be afraid to admit it. Your day is coming where you'll be on top, it's just not this year. Goodness Gracious.

I'm not going ot say the wings never take cheap shots, but it's extremely rare that the Wings ever goon it up like Chicago did today. The wings are intersted in playing the game like it shoudl be played. When the league came out with changing the rules and deciding to call interference closely, the wings went away from the 'dirtier players' and picked up skilled players to anticipate the more skilled game of hockey. I'm just thankful the refs didn't try to even up the minutes like they typically do. It was clear to me that they were trying to protect the red wings a bit by at times being quick on the calls to prevent things from getting out of hand.

He hasn't played a team with good defense yet either. And most seem to agree the East is inferior to the West overall. Still though, him and Malkin have been quite a force lately. We'll see...they should be more prepared for Detroit this year as opposed to last year.

Here's my level headed and objective viewpoint on another Detroit/Pitt matchup: The wings will neutralize Crosby and Malkin 90% of the time. If that occurs, I like the supporting cast of Detroit much better than Pitt. I think Hossa is also highly motivated to win the cup. Given the refs call it fair, and we have Lidstrom and Datsyuk in the lineup, I think wings in 5 (like it should have been last year until the refs ruined it). I think Pit last year was better team than this year.

I like how every fan of the red wing opponents thinks they're not that overmatched against the red wings. Hello, we've won 4 cups in 11 years, about to be 5 in 12. I'd say most all of you are overmatched. Sorry for the arrogance, but it's fact. That being said, I've been saying it since the start of the playoffs, and really since the Hawks acquired Q, that they weren't going anywhere with him behind the bench. My sister's boyfriend is a hawks fan and I told him that the day they hired Q. He laughed it off, but I told him as long as they run into Detroit, they'll never get by us with Q behind the bench.

Go Wings baby. Hawks have nothing for Detroit. And we won with our 2 best players out. I love it. Where's the Hawk retard that said the Hawks were winning the next 3 in a row?

The Pens have Crosby and Malkin doing almost all of their scoring. Those players will be shut down 90% by Detroit's personnel. It'll be interesting, still assuming we get there of course. GO RED WINGS BABY! Just hold form this game and smoke em in 5.

I agree. Let's just hope the lead holds up. Wings are being opportunistic and absolutely solid defensively today. I wonder if the absence of Lidstrom is making them focus more on the defense.

I'll tell you what, Buffogally Googly is the most clumsy 260lb guy on skates I've ever seen, and the hawk fans wanna say the Wings dive...nice. He goes over and shoves homer and then acts like he stumbles, to draw a penalty. lol

Whether he wrote the letter with all the explicit language, or wrote it professionally, it will go unanswered. So, his friend might as well have some fun and feel better by getting it off his chest. We all feel exactly that same way, we just didn't take the time to put it into hard copy, since we know it's a waste of our life.

Crosby and Malkin won't be able to run a train on the Red Wing Defense, therefore there's no way both will be scoring at will in the SCF. That's assuming we get there...I'm of the utmost confidence. The Wings usually respond well after they feel cheated out of a win, just like they did against Anaheim.

Interesting, because sometimes the refs blow a delayed penalty call dead when the player starts to 'skate' with the puck without touching it.

Hey, anyone know what the release or 'memo' was that the NHL proportedly released according to babcock? Sounds like in the presser he wanted to 'let it out of the bag' that the NHL released something that the media hadn't gotten wind of yet.
