Boy I can't wait until Hossa gets clicking with the rest of the red wings. This is going to be an exciting season.

My sister just moved from here to Chicago to do her Rotations (she's almost a doctor). Anyways, she was thinking about getting the NHL center ice package so she could catch all the wings games. My question is, do all of the red wing games appear on NHL center ice? I looked through their Ocotber schedule and every game is on there unless it's nationally televised on Versus HD (like tomorrow, which is the only one not on NHL center ice). So, for those who get NHL center ice, are all of the games not nationally televised, on NHL center ice? She doesn't want to pay the 150 bucks and only get half the games or something.

Anyone know if this game is televised, and if so what channel?

The blackhawks are going to be dangerous this year. The Wings have it on paper to repeat, but they didn't do enough overhauling for me to be unconcerned about a lack of drive. I hope they don't fall into that rut. Perhaps Babs will have something to say about that. Let's just make it to the playoffs and worry about it at that point!

The way I read that is he's talking about nobody putting better talent IN THE EAST out on the power play. I don't think he wanted to encompass the entire league. There's no way you can argue we have lesser talent than Pitt in any category, except whining.

Every time I think about us winning the cup this past year and think about the players we have and just signed, I always remember the jeers from the crowds of other fans that said we wouldn't even make the playoffs after the new CBA was signed. What a fantastic job the front office has done.

Ok, I have to say, I'm absolutely amazed we got Hossa coming in next year. I am so excited. I was about to leave from work and a guy at his cubicle says, "Hey Dave, check this out..." and he has the article with a headline "Hossa signs with Detroit for 7.4 million". At first I was like, "What did you do, alter it in word or something?" I totally didn't believe it. Then I saw it on freep.com and was like "wow, if we don't cause some serious damage in the playoffs next year, there's something wrong. Anyways, do you think that these recent signings will bring some butts back to the seats in the regular season games, or do you think with the economy the way it is and hockey not being a big deal until the 4th round of the playoffs around here, it won't matter?

I was at Game 2 of the SCF against Carolina, the wings were down 1-0 in the 3rd period, and the crowd was extremely loud. They were chanting GO RED, GO WHITE I think, and then Draper scored (I think) and the crowd went Apes***. Then the wings scored again to go up 2-1 within like 2-3 minutes and the place was on fire.

Assuming only Michiganders went to the parade.

I think a couple guys that might not hurt to trade up are Samuelson and Lilja. If you can replace those two with Orpik and Staal, who wouldn't do that? YOu just got two young, talented players who have stanley cup final experience.

Hell, lets try to pick both Orpik and Staal up. I'm sure they'd love to come back to a team that is expected to win the cup yearly!

Well that explains some of the boneheaded plays by Stuart at times... I guess in the heat of the moment we assume they're 100% healthy and start dogging them lol. To me it looked like Datsyuk had something wrong with him as well, unless you think the Pens just did the job with him. Dats didn't really seem the same in the 4th round. That makes it all the more impressive that the Wings pulled this thing out as dominantly as they did.

I think Pitt gave Detroit just as many fits as Nashville did, except that they had alot of help from the refs. I can't remember the referee situation in round 1 since it feels like a year ago that it was played. I don't know about the rest of you, but it hasn't really sunk in yet that the Detroit Red Wings are the Stanley Cup Champions again.

Yeah, i don't dispute that that call on Hudler wasn't a penalty by this year's ticky tack penalty calls, but it wasn't a penalty in a stanley cup deciding game with less than 5 minutes to go. That's a call you make to set the tone of a game early in the first period. There's a difference. The fact that there were things 100 times worse let go than that says it all about the inconsistency, and the fact that, while I don't buy into the league wanting Crosby to win, but perhaps they told the refs to do their best to give every opportunity to the team that's down to tie up the game, for the better ratings.

I agree, I don't think you can leave him out of the HHOF, not with those numbers he has.

When someone takes a penalty and everybody is wondering why the ref's hand is up, it doesn't need to be called.

How about that weak ass call on Hudler to give the Pens a chance at the end of the game? Are you kidding me? I mean yes it doesn't matter now, but what if Hossa would have tied the game with 1 second to go? Then what would you guys be saying? Something has to be done about the officiating next year. It was absolutely horrendous. I just ask they be consistent, but honestly, with 2 minutes to go in a SCF game, are you kidding me that they call whatever that penalty was on Hudler? I swear to God i almost had to pop some Xanax.

I had a very hard time going to bed after that 3OT loss on Monday night. I do NOT need that again. I was laying there waiting to go into a Panic attack, and woke up all antsy. Not cool. I hate when i let myself get this attached to a team. Goodness.

Anyone know what happened on the Datsyuk penalty? They never replayed it. WTF?
