Anyone else agree that this brand of hockey is far more interesting to watch than last round? I swear, I wish the league would get a clue. THis is going to be a series where all the stars shine.
-
Wings win tonight 5-3.
-
DET/COL: 4-1 SJ/DAL: 4-2 MON/PHI: 4-2 PIT/NYR: 4-3

Damn I suck at picks this year! lol
-
Ironically, I'm not as worried about the Avs as I would have been about the Flames. With the Avs, I don't think we have to worry about the Wings looking past them or not respecting them enough to play hard every game.
-
I may be in, depending on what day. I'd love to meet some folks from the board!
-
Good Riddence. Hockey is better off without that POS team in the playoffs...
-
BYE BYE DUCKIES! BYE BYE SCHNEIDER. Bye bye Bert. Bye bye Pronger (hate you, POS). Bye bye Fat ass giguere... I'm so glad that dirty POS team is out of the playoffs...
-
It's pathetic. Like i already said in another thread, they are maybe the most major headcases ever this year. Goodness. They better get this series over in 5 and be ready for the Celtics.
-
WOW so he really did try to do that. You gotta love Lidstrom. That's so cool...
-
Good to see you SWF. I will say this, I agree. And I will also say I will take every goal from here to the cup being lucky, as long as we get to be the ones hoisting it at the end!
-
So basically it was a team effort is what you're saying? I can't argue with that. That's what you need to win series and cups. I hope this keeps up.
-
Well I mean the first goal was a very huge bounce, literally lol. You can't argue that. But Mickey said Lidstrom did that deliberately, like, shot it up high with less on it to make it bounce and see if it woudl fool the goalie. I'd love to really know if lidstrom deliberately tried to do that and get that kind of a bounce. Either way, the wings were dominating the game and completely shutting down the Predators. It ain't like the preds were outplaying detroit, detroit throws one at the net and it bounces in, and they win after being outshot or something. Who cares anyways. How often do we get to fly under the radar in the playoff picture? Not often. I say let them write that crap.
-
But unlike hockey, you only need to keep it close until the last 5 minutes of a basketball game...lol. I can't believe the pistons lost. They must have the biggest headcases on the planet this year, even bigger than in past year. Goodness.

No stress is RIGHT!!!!!!!!! I stated befoer that I was reserving some emotion until we made it out of Round 1. I am officially 100% into this playoff now. I reserved a little bit becasue of past upsets, didn't want to let myself get too emotionally tied. But now, I'm letting it all hang out. I LOVE YOU ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GO WINGS!!!!!!!!! LOL

Datsyuk, then Osgood. I think had we played Hasek in game 5, we would have lost. I think this series was ripe for an upset if Osgood hadn't have played. That's why I chose Ozzie second, even though he was only involved in the last 2, yet most improtant games of the series. Datsyuk is clearly number one. Nobody could handle him for the Preds. Dats was skating all around those players like they were cones in the street.

I enjoyed watching the handshakes. I love seeing teams shake hands who never do shake hands during any other time in the series. On that note, the Pistons just lost a home game in the first round? LOL wtf is that? Talk about looking down at your opponents...my God.
-
I think I'd liek to see a colorado/detroit matchup. I think the goalie is weaker, and I would love to see Dats/Zett against Sakic/Forsberg. Even if Detroit loses, I wouldn't regret this series. I'd love to see it again. Calgary scares me. They are a scrappy team just like Nashville, but with more talent and a much better goalie.

I would venture to guess Thursday, but could be Friday. Won't start before thursday, since Game 7 was scheduled for Tuesday.

I think over the last 2 games, the wings looked absolutley solid defensively. If they continue to play the games that way, they aren't going to lose too much the rest of the way. I want to say one thing about the predator fans today at the rink there. I certainly respect the fact that they are behind their team. I guess what I want to ask is (and this is not a flame), at what point do you predator fans start expecting more from your team? I mean, this is how many early exits in the playoffs now, and you still gave the team a standing ovation? Yes you were up against the number 1 team, yes you were banged up doing it, yes you drew the series out longer than it probably should have gone, but at what point do you start expecting your team to get beyond round 1? It is an honest question and I'd like to hear thoughts on it. Again, this is not a knock on the fans or the predator team. I give them props. I think their heart is the only thing that got them to 6 games. They were hanging around with heart alone, and unfortunately didn't have the talent.

Drew is on 97.1 right now saying Osgood should have came up with that save because that's what great goalies do, and Osgood isn't at that level. What the hell man? It sounds to me like Drew didn't watch that goal. I mean some goals, unless the goalie just knows that's what is going to happen and react way early, are not going to stop it. That was a bang bang play right in front of the net, up into the top of the corner. Are you telling me Any goalie in this league would stop that? Drew Sharp is a jackass, man.
-
Becuase you don't screw around in the playoffs. I know it has only been done twice (coming back from 3-0, but you don't F around in the playoffs. I really would love to see the Wings/Avs next round. That would be a great series, even if we lost it.
-
I think it is two evenly matched crap teams just like most other teams in this league, duking it out for who is better. I mean, that's what has happened in this league. But yeah it was nice to see a non defensive game. Maybe the first this year, lol. When do the Wings ever get to play a team that isn't trying to trap them?
-
Wings win 3-1.

I think the fans should chip in a dollar a piece (have a collection out in the hallway at the game) so that he can twirl that octopus around his head! The NHL has their heads up their ass. There's far worse crap going on that they should be sending fines towards than someone twirling an Octopus. Give me a break. No wonder nobody watches the NHL anymore.
