Drew is saying people are excusing Osgood because he's a fan favorite. That's not the case at all. Even if Hasek would have allowed that goal, I think we'd all be saying it was not his fault. I mean that was an unstoppable goal unless there was luck involved or the goalie just had his hand up there before the puck was shot...

And a sub par goalie is exactly what he is. He looks good tonight becasue alot of luck is going his way. The goals that would normally go in are getting by him. It's not like he's making spectacular saves. People look at 50 shots on goal and are like "wow he's standing on his head". Give me a break. This is ridiculous. If the wings lose this game, I don't see how they can muster any confidence up to win game 6 and force a 7. There's just no way, not after dominating all game. The positive is that Nashville hasn't been able to generate much at all 5 on 5.

I honestly would have to agree with you here. I hope Babs is getting on them for slowing down a little, unless that is their intent. I just worry that they'll fall back and play too defensive like in game 3 and get burned. All it takes is one goal by the Preds to think they can win in Detroit. Right now they still dont' look like they're that confident that they can win a road playoff game. Don't give em a SNIFF!

ellis has looked shakey all series. I don't know why some people think he's a solid goalie. He gives up way too many rebounds and I think it's luck that he's not down 3-0 right now.

I realize we're all in good spirits because we're currently winning, but I was not too happy with that period overall. The wings came out flying in the first 5 minutes. They stopped all that flying after they scored a goal. I expect to see them flying around like they did in those 5 minutes, ALL GAME LONG. Man the wings worry me when they slow down their play, and yes, I think they slowed down after 5 minutes. Anyone else agree with this? Again, I'm happy we are up, but I'm still quite concerned here.

I wouldn't be surprised if Anaheim wins tonight and forces 6, but I dont' think they'll win honestly. I think Dallas is all over them. I think it's a fluke Anaheim won a game. NJ, hard to say. Brodeur could easily steal that game tonight.

Wow, lots of people predicting a 4-1 win, myself included. Are we all aware that almost every game has been 1 goal game in the regular season and playoffs (excluding EN goals)? I guess I'm pretty surprised by that. I think we're all banking on the idea that the Wings are that much better and are all pissed off, and will be playing with serious aggression tonight.

The worst thing that could possibly happen tonight is that Nashville scores early in the game, like 2-5 minutes into the game. I think the wings will be a little tight to start with, having the Home Crowd there and the fact that the pressure is on. If the wings can get a goal and get the lead, I think they'll loosen up. I'm still going to stay with 4-1 wings tonight. I think Ozzie will be very close to a shutout, with a garbage goal that Nashville will score.

Man, with the Avs beating minnesota, Dallas likely moving on, I would sure love to see the Wings play the Avs next round. COME ON RED WINGS, WAKE YOUR ASSES UP! Now I'll go on record in saying this: Before Game 3, I had no confidence the wings would win. I said if they were going to lose a game it would be game 3. Before Game 4, I had no confidence. I felt after losing game 3 the way they did, they'd lose game 4 as well. But today, I have a good feeling. Wings 4-1.

Yeah i don't think Ellis looks unbeatable whatsoever. He's giving up major rebounds. In my opinion he still looks nervous and shakey most of the time. It's the lack of effort/pressure on Detroit's part and Nashville clearing the pucks out that has saved Ellis' ass several times. Roloson and Giguere got 'hot', even though I'd still argue we fired everything right at Giguere's chest. But Ellis still looks shakey and very beatable to me.

The power play needs to be better, and the wings need to get pressure on the puck in the corner. They went away from the forecheck in the last 2 games and they aren't able to sustain any pressure. I am not too worried about tomorrow. I think they'll pull out a win. What I don't want to see is this series going 7. It should have been a 5 game series tops. Let's just focus on this game and get out of there with a win, and go shut Nashville down in Nashville on Sunday.

I've learned not to get very emotionally involved in Round 1's over the years with the red wings. I don't jump in with both feet until after they get out of the first round. That being said, YES, i'd be pretty shocked. Nashville sucks, whether anyoen wants to admit it or not. They're a terrible team, but they have work ethic going for them and right now they're playing harder than Detroit. Talent wise, they're terrible. Either that or maybe it's just the parity that pisses me off in the league these days...

He really said that? Wow... I have been a Dom supporter from day one. I have never said he has allowed soft goals and I still am not going to say that, because i don't feel they have been. But I will asy that when the puck isn't hitting you, it's not hitting you, and Hasek has been that way pretty much all year except for the occasional game. I think Ozzie deserves the chance to play game 5.

Downey hasn't played because McCarty is better offensively than Downey. At least that's my guess.
