Maybe that ref was uninformed about the fact that just because homer had half a blade in the crease when the goal went in that those are now allowed in today's nhl. lol

I see your point, however in an NHL game one bad call in the 1st period to put a team down 2 men can be devastating. I don't think refs can have that same impact in the NBA, unless your'e talking about the last 10 seconds of game play.

This may have an obvious answer, but please humor me: Why doesn't anyone ever get to interview a referee? Is it in their contract that there be no media contact or something? I'm just curious. Must be nice to be that well protected. It's like a meteorologist. He can be wrong every time no matter what, yet he keeps his job.

In a game that both teams score 100pts in basketball, a bad call by a ref may account for what, 1% of points scored in the game? A bad call by a ref in hockey is far more impactful on the game. And if you seriously think the NHL is anywhere near 4th in national sports, go get your head examined. I agree that the NHL refereeing this year is the worst that I can remember. Just call it one way or the other, don't change your mind throughout the game. That is the most annoying part. And yeah, that call on Homer was a joke. The would-be game tying goal that was disallowed was the biggest joke of all. If you're going to disallow the goal, then homer goes to the box. How do you not call anything and disallow the goal based on interference? WTF?

This is one time I woulda loved to see Babs throw a bench out on the ice. Who cares about a fine or game suspension...it would have shown some passion. The refs today AND yesterday were a joke. What is going on in the league anyways? Why are refs putting their whistles away now? I mean, i'm fine with it, i like it a bit better now than when they were calling everything in the book, but it is still not consistent. Teams like the wings who built for a game where they call all the clutching and grabbing are going to get hurt in the playoffs because the way the games are being called now is changing. I wish they'd just be consistent, one way or the other, so teams can build appropriately for it. Good thing the wings picked up some grit and enforcement. I wish someone would beat Pronger's ass as well. Can't stand him.

The knock on this CBA is that they'll likely never keep all the players they have, so they could go from number 2 to number 20 next year, who knows anymore.

The duck player looked like he tried to throw it in front of the net but the defender that was on him, the puck hit his skate and directed right through Emery's legs, nothing he could do about it. Another lucky bounce for the ducks.

It's funny they call that penalty there, the one impeding the forechecker? LOL where was that call in the Red Wings series, or any other series for that matter? Gimme a break. I think they gotta be like that, dirty against dirty. I'm not condoning it but if the DUcks wanna do it, then they better be ready to get it back. It sucks, and i wish all that crap could come out of the game but they're playing for the cup here.

Well I'd like to think that the Wings really prepared the Ducks for this series here. It's clear the Ducks are making all the right plays and getting all the bounces. Even when they don't get the puck out on a clearing attempt the puck bounces their way and it ends up getting out eventually without too much problem. I'd like to think the Wings mentally and physically prepared the ducks to win the cup...but it pisses me off lol.

Bettman also says the refs are fantastic and hockey is on the way up. Besides, I think it's already been stated that the Preds are staying in Nashville through next year for sure by the Leipold.

I'd like Wings vs Rangers or any 2 original 6 teams would be good. When was the last time that 2 original six teams played for the cup? Gawd I don't want to see Pronger's name on that cup...or Selanne's...
