I gotta tell ya guys...I am so out of it today. After they lost, i was just bummed the rest of the night and it's carried over at work today. I can't break out of the funk. I wish the wings were playing game 6 tonight because it feels like eternity until the next game. Before the series, I said that I was comfortable with what the wings had accomplished and that if they lost to the Ducks, they'd be losing to a team arguably as good as they are and I wouldn't really feel that bad. But now, with the way the Wings are losing the series, I just don't feel that way anymore. Now I feel they SHOULD be winning this series. I feel unusually confident about game 6 though, and I'm usually a pessimist. The wings have outplayed the Ducks the last few games and Giguere is beatable. Hopefully the breaks start going our way. If they do I think we'll win game 6 and the series. The ducks know they better finish it in game 6. Game 6 should be an epic game. I think Hasek is going to be phenomenal and as long as the wings get more than 1 goal, I gotta think the wings are going to win. Don't bet against Hasek until we lose a playoff series with him in net!

I'm glad I wasn't the only one that noticed that. Nobody's talking about that one. A clear hold. The better matchup is the Wings vs Ottawa. The ducks are going to get smoked in the finals. Let's hope the wings can make it, that'd be a very exciting, offensive series for the NHL...Det vs Ott.

I'm tired of the "WE BELIEVE" phrase everytime any team faces adversity... ...even though I do feel Detroit will get the last word.

I agree 100%. I don't know why people think he's 'the s***' this series. He's been very beatable the ENTIER SERIES! The goals didn't go in today because of bad bounces. It's not like he made unbelievable stops today. Holmstrom and Lidstrom should both have had one. We should have won this game 4 or 5-0 today, but didn't becasue fo bounces, not because of saves. You could argue that Giguere shoulda made the save on the 1 goal the wings scored on!

I disagree completely. He's been very beatable all series, including today, but the puck wasn't bouncing our way. How many saves did Giguere really have that were unbelievable today and didn't require him to catch it in his chest? Most of the saves he made he either caught up in his chest protector, or they went off his pad and right by a wing player ready to bang it into the open net...just bad bounces. I'm not giving credit to Giguere winning this series if we lose it. That's ridiculous in my opinion. If we lose this series it's because of bad bounces and the wings not capitalizing on opportunities, and the fact that the wings can't play a complete game!!!!!!!!!!

I agree with you that the refing has sucked both ways. But come on. The game is on the line and they call a cheap penalty like that? Meanwhile Pronger goes out of his way to run interference everytime the wings dump the puck in, and there's not been 1 of those called in the playoffs yet. They were calling about 3 of those per game early in the season. Anyone else notice after lilja didn't make the play he stopped to try to get back to the puck but was held? No call there either. Anyway, I am highly confident the wings can go into Game 6 and completely shut down the Ducks. I think Dom will have his best game of the year and shut them out, sorta like 02 but not. I don't think we can compare to 2002. That was a different era, completely differnet players, and it was a rivalry. This series, with the way things have gone one game to the next, would not be surprising to me if the wings won 3-0 in game 6. We'll find out what they're made out of. Oh and one last thing. People want to castrate Lilja but Lidstrom put his stick in the way of the shot to tie the game, yet nobody's castrating him for it. I say they both made mistakes, it happens. In my opinilon Lidstrom shoulda eather threw his body in front of that shot or just let Dom handle it. Lilja shoulda not cut up the middle with 2 guys around him, but he did and that's the game. Both plays were flukey and I for one am happy to have lost it that way if we had to lose. Just don't bet against Hasek until he loses a playoff series with the Wings.

Come on...squeak out this last 20 minutes!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Dont' expect many power plays called in the 3rd, maybe 1 per side.

I don't think Anaheim just played a penalty-free period but whatever. They're getting the calls right now due to pronger's whining so we'll get our calls soon. Let's just pray the wings make it through this adversity right now.

Hasek is going to shut down the Ducks. He doesn't allow more than 2, but I'd be surprised if they get more than 1. Wings win 4-1.

And this is a guy that the league is thinknig of giving a Norris trophy to...I guess I'm not surprised. Pronger is a jackass. The only thing I agree with him on is the inconsistency of the refs...but that's been going on all season really.

I didn't call Giguere an average goalie, i said he's been playing average this series, and he has been. Hasek normally clamps down around game 5 or 6 and I think he'll do the same. If the wings lose game 5, yeah I'll be worried, but I'm very confident they aren't going to lose it, that's all. If the series gets to 7 games, I wno't be concerned either. The only time I'd get concerned now is if Detroit drops game 5, but i seriously doubt it.

I won't bet against Hasek until he loses a playoff series in a red wings jersey. The wings were sloppy defensively yesterday and that's why they lost. Giguere has been very beatable all series long, and average in all 4 games in my opinion. I am not trying to sound disrespectful or overconfident, but I just am not concerned anymore. Like I said, before this series started, i was extremely concerned, and after 2 games, still concerned. But after the last two, I'm just not anymore. People can talk about Pronger coming back giving momentum, but the wings beat the ducks twice with pronger in the lineup so I don't think it'll matter. If anything i think the ducks are more disciplined WITHOUT pronger in the lineup. Again, I'm just not worried anymore.

I have to say, I'm just not worried anymore about the Ducks. When this series first started I thought the wings wouldn't be able to handle the Ducks honestly. But now, I just don't think the ducks have enough offense to beat Hasek enough times to win this series. They're solid defensively and they are physical, but they really don't score enough goals on a regular basis. I'm just not worried. Wings in 6. Hasek starts becoming a wall from game 5 on.

I don't think Hasek will allow more than 1 goal tonight. I think he's going to be stellar for the rest of this playoff year.

Look out in the 3rd period. There might be some ass whoopings handed out by Bert.

Does anyone know why Calder isn't playing well? I just don't get it.

Does Ottawa hit like all 3 of our western opponents? I haven't really watched alot of them but from what I have seen they don't really hit. They play speedy hockey which i think would play into Detroit's hands honestly. The wings need a series like that...if we can get there.

Yeah I don't think it's classy to applaud injuries to players, but in terms of the odds of us coming out on top in this series, it defniitely increases them. Otherwise though, you never want to see people get injured.

Yeah next game will be 1-0 or 2-1 OT. It was interesting to see both goalies lose their game streaks of allowing 2 goals or less, both in the same night.

It wasn't a weak goal dips***. Dont' watch any other hockey games either, you're a disgrace. The wings allowed the Ducks to control play WAY too long in their own end, and it burned em. Nice goal by the ducks. On to game 3.

I just ran to the gas station to fill up the Trans Am for a trip tomorrow and was pestered by some lowlife for money and a ride. He got awful close and I seriously thought I was gonna get in a fight with him. Now the adrenaline is flowing...lets go OT.

I don't get the refs. They started calling Detroit for everything that Anaheim has been doing all f***in game. I figured we'd get a 5 on 3 opportunity tonight because they had one in game 1 (as dumb as that sounds, it all evens out). HOpefully the wings can score on this and get all the momentum. They've been coming on.
