LOL @ Jovo Ugly, ugly win for Ozzy. He seems to be lacking focus or confidence. Every game we see a period or two of 2008 Ozzy but then some 2009 Ozzy mixed in too. I still believe he can turn it around. 27 games is not a huge sample size. Turco sucked bad for his first 40 and is on fire now, but Ozzy definitely needs to get it in gear very soon.

Very, very untrue. Team A allows 10 shots but keeps them to the outside, doesn't allow clear chances in the slot or cross-crease tap-ins. Maybe one or two good scoring chances. Team B allows 10 shots, but their defense is running around and most shots taken are very good scoring chances. Open players in the slot, cross-crease passes, breakaways, etc. What I'm trying to say is, with bad defense there will be more quality scoring chances per X amount of shots, lowering a goalie's sv%.

Howard may not even be ready, but I'd still like to see him get a shot before Larsson forces us to choose between them. I don't see how much of a difference it makes in the end anyway. Our goalie with the .880sv% has a higher points per game percentage than our goalie with the .915sv% :/

We have 2 really good goalie prospects in the AHL. At some point I'd like to see them get a chance. With all these other teams bringing up their young goalies and having great success I would have rather seen us give Howard a chance this year and see where it got us. I'm hoping we do that next year. As for this year, Anderson might be a good pickup, but it could also end up just being a lateral move for Conklin.

Agree with guy above about defense and goaltending. Both are shaky right now. Bad defense is amplifying bad goaltending and vice versa.

Osgood would be getting torn apart on this forum if it had been him playing in that game with the same result. Just sayin'. Our goalie issues are non-issues, everything will be great in a month or two and we're all going to sing happy songs by the campfire.

The confidence angle is ... retarded. 96% of our roster won a cup infront of Ozzy just 7 months ago. Everything will work itself out, we'll win our second straight cup, and this and other threads like it will be bumped sometime in 2010 for all of us to LOL at.

I think Ozzy will pick it up. I said this to a friend before the San Jose game - I don't understand why our goalie that is playing well draws L.A. and Phoenix, and our goalie that needs some confidence draws Anaheim and San Jose... seems like it should have been the other way around. Ozzy obviously needs to play better anyway, but I think he can do it.

My point was more that he's never had the pressure of being "the guy". Last year, he was a fill-in until Fleury came back, and this year it's been fairly public that Osgood will eventually get more starts to get ready for the playoffs. We don't know if it will actually happen of course, that's just what was said a month or so ago. I'm not saying things don't change, and I think Conklin is doing great, but I just think it's best to approach the situation with caution, and give Ozzy every chance to get going.
