Osgood is weak on cross-crease passes for the one-timer to his blocker side. Coincidentally, we've been absolutely terrible at blocking those passing lanes. The PK that lost us game 3 was absolutely sad. The Pens had the puck in the zone FOR THE ENTIRE PK UNTIL THEY SCORED. A full 1:30 controlling the puck in our zone. A goal is almost inevitable at that point. Even the goalie gets tired in those situations. I think we need to be way more aggressive on the PK.

I think perhaps Babcock had just learned an important lesson... he watched us tear apart the Hawks rusty backup (Huet) who had not played in over a month. Why not give our backup a meaningless period incase Ozzy goes down for whatever reason? Shake the rust off Conklin, tell the press Ozzy was dehydrated.

For our goaltending, I wouldn't mind Osgood and Howard/Larsson at all next year. Look at all of these 20-25 year old goalies coming up and showing they can start immediately. Larsson will be 24 and Howard will be 26 next year, if we believe that one of them will ever start for us, why not give it a shot? Osgood has shown he's still got some mojo if Howard or Larsson don't succeed. I'm just sick of the patented Red Wings 2-year StopGap® in goal, and I don't think there's a franchise goaltender available this offseason.

Ozzy's record is wrong in the first post. It's actually 5-1 of course, and very unfortunately... I'm thinking we come out hard and finally regain the look of the team that demolished Columbus. Go Wings!

Yeah, damn him for not giving freaking Datsyuk, Zetterberg, Hossa, and Franzen 40 minutes to get one by Hilller. ...oh wait. Best offensive team, we score 3 or 4 goals per game regularly, but if it goes to OT we NEVER score. I don't understand it.

I don't think it's nearly that high. Where I live, VS. is only included in the mid-level digital packages and above. I have basic cable and don't get it. It's not worth an extra $40/m for me because I don't care about any of the extra channels except for VS. I get 85 channels including ESPN. VS can suck it in my book.

I was at the game... a bit drunk now but I remember Hossa blocking a shot that LOOKED like it hit him in the hand, and I remember watching to see if his hand was hurt for the rest of the play. Not really sure though TBH.

Went to the game tonight, the Ericsson fight was AWESOME. Also, Ozzy's save just before the fight was really, really great. Probably not as good of a view on TV, but we were sitting behind the net and he made a really sharp adjustment on a good deflection, really nice save. The Joe went wild when Lids scored at the end.... great game. Let's get another one Sunday. Go Wings!

When he had to go to the left or slide to the left, he kind of hopped a bit instead of sliding, but that was mostly in the second. I noticed that in the third he mostly had to go to the right. Good luck for us.

Just got back from the game. There were no more than a few very small groups of 3-4 BJ fans. I would say it was probably 3% full of BJ's.

The Wings always seem to make the opposing goalie look like a god even if his team loses. I guess it's just sort of our system, or maybe because we're usually way up in shots and the opportunity is always there for the opposing goalie to appear to 'steal' a game. I don't think it's a coincidence that the goalies we play against always appear to be really good. Mason will be great, he'll get alot of attention for his performance, and the Wings will move on to the second round.

Some interesting stats for Steve Mason, who has been dubbed by some as 'that hot rookie goaltender that we all hate to face in the first round': Pre-All Star Break 17-11-2 .926% 2.05GAA 6SO Post-All Star Break 16-9-5 .904% 2.53GAA 4SO In April 1-2-2 .883% 3.08GAA 0SO Hopefully his cold streak continues into the playoffs.
