Lets see......nope. Adding Sundin or any other senior citizen will do nothing but take away ice time from Filpulla, Hudler, and the rest of the young guys. If Holland and Babcock believe Filpulla and Hudler are the next gen., keep them on the ice instead of adding a veteran that messes up chemistry and is gone after one season. Also, the power play is back at the top of the league and its the reason the wings are at the top of the league in scoring. I wouldn't worry about the offense. The wings haven't made a big deadline deal in a while because with top of the line scouts they don't need to. If anything they should pick up a journeyman defenseman because of what happened last season with defensive injuries. Keep in mind they need cap space to sign Zetterberg and Lidstrom to presumably record contracts.

Now Team Sweden is joined by Team Venezuela. LOL

Datsyuk13.com has the Calgary post game interview that wasn't aired but they don't have the intermission interview against montreal. I have to admit it would be fun to talk to him in person apparently he is a funny guy. finally he is doing interviews, i think it was funny when he was getting lippy when being asked about grigorenko

I always love to see Barry Melrose disgustedly talk about the Red Wings doing so great, especially earlier in the season when he had to point out that they were playing the best hockey in the NHL. Playoffs are the best though, when he repeatedly picks against them and then doesn't sleep at night because the next day he'll have to say the Wings won again.

Why did Datsyuk not play during the 1998-99 season? I can't find the answer to this anywhere

Hudler is only in his second year, though. I'm not counting him out, the guy can flat out shoot the puck. If he sees some more power play time down the road, he may get close.

I believe it was just a matter of him growing enough. This is From http://www.behindthejersey.com/2004/01/26/...-jersey-no-13/: "Pavel had very good skills, but was very small and weak. When we drafted him he was 5′8″ and about 145 pounds soaking wet." I'm sure it was when he was done growing when he finally started to dominate.

Nevermind the stats just weren't on hockeydb for some reason for 1998. Datsyuk scored 27 points in 22 games in 98-99, so why did he only play 15 games the next season?

Yeah it would be nice to see the wings play all the teams. However, its unfortunate that now that they are finally trying to balance the schedule, the central division teams are getting better at the same time and are fun to watch anyways.
