well. IPA stands for India Pale Ale. but isn't actually from india. it's named after the east india company, which you've probably read about in a history class or two. and yeah..that stuff is an acquired taste. i have to really be in the mood for some hops to drink an ipa, and i'm usually not. sometimes though, it's the only thing i want to drink. weird.

you know. i've heard really terrible things about pyramid apricot (including the phrase "hotdog water" used to describe the flavour) but i think it's a damn fine beer, and you can't beat the price.

well, if i can't find anything michigan-brewed, i'd like to at least find something domestic. if i can't, i'm just gonna get some smithwick's.

i'm not typically big on pilsners, but urquell IS good. (i'm so happy this thread got revived!) i've been trying to drink only michigan beers lately because a) they're awesome, b) we're fortunate to have so many great breweries here in this state and c) because i figure any little bit of stimulation i can give to the state's economy is a positive thing! so tonight, for nye, i have purchased: a six pack of dark horse reserve special black bier and a bottle of jolly pumpkin calabaza blanca. a friend of mine requested that i bring an irish ale of some sort, but i can't think of a decent michigan-brewed irish ale for the life of me. to be honest, i can't think of a decent domestic irish ale that isn't seasonal (or that is currently in season) at all. if anyone has any suggestions, please, let me know!

i voted for mule, not gonna lie. conks was great though! tpbm has returned at least one of their xmas presents from this year.

i start pilates and kickboxing classes during the first week of the new year. i'm not going anywhere near a gym until then! tpbm is happy w/their hair.
