so, saturday a few of my friends threw a pirate party at their house! tons of beer, tons of rum, tons of people. no one was allowed in unless they had at least three pirate-esque accessories/articles of clothing on, and we all had to come up w/pirate names. i'd tell you what mine was but it's borderline inappropriate and i wouldn't want the kiddies to see an innuendous word. here's drunk ass me and my teetotaling, unamused boyfriend (seriously he was the only sober person there.) a few of my friends in costume the party was byobs (bring yer own beer stein). this baby's from the ren festival. and it was filled w/delicious oberon. from a keg! i'd never seen a keg of oberon before. when the keg ran out, i switched to pyramid amber weizen. i think i liked it, but it's all pretty fuzzy by then. fun fun fun night. in the morning, a lot of us went out for breakfast and then had a cleaning 'party'. good times.

aw..good on vernie! he was my favourite player back in the day. and oddly enough, one of my first "celebrity" crushes. seriously what kind of 11 year old has a crush on an (at this point already veteran) mike vernon. tampa bay is sort of building a beast over there, 'eh. i'm looking forward to seeing how that works out for them this upcoming season.

maybe it's just the uniform but...hot. (uh..just how young are you?) same here. i'll be 23 in 2 weeks, and i've never had them. i've never been vaccinated against them either. i've been around people w/them, and..nothing. we rule!

hemp ale? i would LOVE to try that. can you recommend any one in particular? and i'm totally w/you on the anchor steam..i don't think i've ever had a bad beer by them.

weird..i had the pyramid apricot before, and thought it was quite good, for a fruit beer. not something i'd want to drink every day, but certainly refreshing and well-crafted. maybe you got a bad batch?
