uh, i really really doubt cherry actually hates europeans. especially seeing as how he's married to one (his wife, luba is from the ukraine). it's part of his schtick, it's what people expect, and it gets people talking (which keeps people watching.) and he's not like...the second coming of evil like some people on here make him out to be. he donates very generously to lots of charities, and i'm pretty sure he even helped in the building of one. he has his opinions, and i don't agree w/all of them. i doubt anyone does. that's kinda the point. plus he's a snappy dresser and the seventh greatest canadian. he can't be all bad! and w/the exception of kronwall's monster hits, i think he's right. it was a very non-physical series. so what's the big deal?

though i agree w/your sentiment wholeheartedly, i think your letter could be a bit more...formal. and uh..less threatening? nobody likes gary bettman, and for good reason, but i think a letter like this that is full of assumptions and namecalling will do nothing good for our cause.

that is weird, that so many other uh...cities that aren't consistantly singled out as being crime ridden/dangerous/decrepid just loooove setting crap on fire when their teams win something, but here in the d we're just about as classy as you can get. maybe it's because if we set stuff on fire here as part of a victory celebration, no one would even notice. if we actually DON'T burn stuff it turns heads. "hey! it's 2am in cass corridor and nothing is on fire!! go wings!!"

ouch! while i think that's kinda harsh, i have to say i kind of agree w/the general idea. rome wasn't built in a day though. i think if the preds can stick around as a franchise and make the playoffs w/some consistency, the game'll catch on more around there. though, since it's not part of the culture like it is around here/canada/original 6 markets (i doubt there's much pond hockey played down in nashville!) i can't say i ever expect nashville to be considered a hardcore hockey city.

aw, i was really hoping bobby lu would be nominated. i wonder if vancouver had made the playoffs if he would've been..... meh..anyway. even though brodeur is sorta my sentimental favourite, i gotta say i think nabby deserves it the most..
