it was loud as hell in there too! and i heard a few different chants going. haha it's like they all read these boards before they went to the game.

...i made this thread so that maybe i could get people to go to a meetup that i would also be able to go to. there's no way in hell i'm driving all the way to 26 mile and anything! i'm like..in dearborn, dude. is anyone willing to do this a little bit closer?

hah...as a "peta person", i think that's completely vile. as a wings fan, i think it's awesome. but it's playoff time, so the wings fan side wins out. barely.

someone posted this in a hockey livejournal community i'm a member of, calling it "something for fans of teams that didn't make the playoffs" i was expecting it to be like...a generic highlight reel set to energetic music or something. it's not.

is this how we're doing this now? ah well.

budd lynch?! come on, man. the guy's been doing it for like 100 years (and i'm not exaggerating by much!) and the lack of enthusiasm from the crowd hasn't really been a big deal until post-lockout. sorry dude, but i have to respectfully disagree w/you on this one.

that is a pretty terrifying notion. i mean...he's one creepy looking dude. and it'd send a message like...'gary is always watching, trying to find new ways to destroy the nhl. beware bewaaaaaare!'.

everything i've had at cheli's is good, except (ironically) the chili.

haha my boss said to me (jokingly) today that the tigers' terrible start is part of an intricate conspiracy on the illitch family's part, in order to sell (more expensive) red wings playoff tickets. honestly though, i don't think it really makes too much of a difference. the economy is really really bad. and a lot more people can afford to go to a tigers game than a wings game. so they will. i have my fingers crossed though, that the wings'll sell out every playoff game. i guess we'll see.

ok first: second, i think babsy should try out mccarty first and see how he does, and make a decision after that. downey is my favourite wing, and i'd love nothing more than to see him out there. however, even though they can both bring the pain, d-mac also provides (theoretically, anyway) a bit more offence and a lot more experience. ideally, i'd like to see them both playing, but that's not gonna happen.

i don't have to be to work until 9:30am, so i can usually get away w/staying up for the whole game (unless it's on the stupid west coast and then i just attempt to stay up and fall asleep in front of the tv). i work saturdays too, but i've already informed my boss that if there's an early game on saturday, i'll be getting someone to cover for me. he's a big big sports fan (though, not hockey so much) and understands how it goes.

minnesota's is pretty good, montreal's is alright but kind of requires a minute of thought before it makes sense, philly's sounds sort of inappropriately scary, but i guess that's how they roll. the rest are dumb. oh and..even gordie howe can't make "are you in" sound even remotely cool/clever/tough/inspiring. hah..i remember a time when they didn't need to ask if detroit fans were in, because the joe was selling out every night. sorry if i sound stupid, but do all the major sports come up w/slogans for the playoffs, or is it just hockey? and if the other sports do, are they all as insipid as the nhl's?

hopefully we will have no occasion to have to whip out the "bulls***" chant. other than that, i don't think it's what we say/don't say as much as how loud/often we say it. we need to be louder and more enthusiastic!

i'm confident that we can beat whomever we end up facing, so i don't really care who wins the series. i'm gonna watch though because both teams are skilled and make for exciting television.

i am so down for this, as long as it isn't in bfe. personally, i think cheli's dearborn would be a great location for this, but anywhere w/in like a 20 mile radius of where i live is fine by me. so...anyone else?

if you consider those photos to be of 'highlights', then i'd hate to see what you consider low. haha..and if you listen to the song, the pictures coincide w/the lyrics. (my favourite is the word 'scream' and the picture of gretzky screaming.)
