To be fair, the Modano penalty looked very soft, but then again there was a blatant trip on Z when we were on the PK that wasn't called so.. *shrug*

Money wasn't the issue as he could only be offered the max entry level contract ($850,000 per year IIRC), and every team was offering the same. Good luck to the kid, no ill feeling to him for choosing another team - he's under no obligation to us.

PP looks terrific, and 5on5 apart from that open net and a couple of horrible turnovers by Kronner (esp that no-look through the legs backhand on the pp) Dallas have barely had a sniff. Well, I've been predicting a Wings loss all week, but ya know what? I'm changing my mind. Look at how wound up we've all been this week! *Finally* Game 1 comes around, we're all like coiled springs - imagine what the Wings players must be like! I also really like Babcocks comments - about the players enjoying rounds 1&2, "now its time to play" See you all tonight at midnight my time....

Yeah, he's one of those players you just love to have in your team come playoff time. A gritty, hard-working player who can score. Like one of the youtube posters said, the heart and soul of this Dallas team. Lets hope he doesn't catch any wings coming round the boards like that!

Awesome! That fits around my shift pattern almost perfectly I will be able to watch almost everyone of those games (although staying up for game4 will cause some chuntering by Mrs Nev, and assuming the weekend games are matinees) Game 7 is worst of all - its the same night as the UEFA Champions League final - I'm not sure my nerves can take 2 huge games back-to-back

My thoughts exactly! It should be a great series, but Wings with 7 days off between games and Stars fully rested after game6, I fear game 1 will be a gimme for them

Drew Sharpe has written 4 consecutive positive articles about the Wings - I don't know what's gotten into him, I don't think he's written a sum total of 4 positive articles before in his entire career! Even the 02 run, the only article I can remember was after we won the cup and it was "They won't be able to keep this team together". And for all Franzen's goals, Datsyuk is still my MVP for his all-around play.

Unless the Dallas/SJ series goes 6 or 7 games, I'm not too concerned. I do think that if the WCF don't start until Tuesday at the earliest, that game1 could be a bit low-key for a Conference Final matchup.
