Cleary is without 15lbs of muscle that has taken 10+ years to build up and maintain, plus he is playing with a face shield. Clearly he cannot play his fearless style of play in that kind of condition.

Wings have too many players carrying injuries, or just back from injury. A few days off to let themselves heal properly will do Draper, Stuart, Holmstrom,Cleary and Maltby the world of good. As for tonight, I'm repeating my prediction of a wings goal waived off for goalie interference. Other than that, gunna be tight, Dom needs to make the big saves early doors.......I sense OT

I thought at the time, and I still think it, that on Lidstrom's goal, the screen set by Homer was the perfect screen. His ass is millimeters from Ellis's face, but he never touches him, he never gets in the way of his movement, he stays out of the paint, and he is completely in the sight line of Ellis towards Lidstrom as he is shooting the puck. Trotz doesn't have a leg to stand on. Having said that, I totally expect Detroit to have a goal called back Monday night for goaltender interference

I think he's going to split D&Z, but I would keep that 3rd line of Huds/Draper/Sammy together as they've been pretty good so far. What concerns me that most is that our 2pp unit was flat out awful last night. No pressure, unable to establish in the offensive zone, players getting in each others way. They looked like a bunch of strangers out there. Aside from that PP in the 1st period the 1st unit looked dominant.

The preds were robbed on that goal in the first period and we'd be justifiably pissed if that happened to us. Everything else is baseless whining. After it went 2-2 (on 2 "lucky" bounces for the Preds no less) they had only 9 shots in something like 35 minutes of play, and most of those must have come on that two minute 6on4, and NONE of that was to do with the refs and ALL of it to do with Detroit just being a flat out better team than Nashville.

There's been a zillion reports of "Brunstromm about to sign with XYZ" I'll believe it when he's there with that team at training camp.

After the time-out the wings put on a clinic. Preds barely got a sniff of our goal till the last 2 mins. ZDH were awesome, very impressed with 3rd line also. Mule was good, but Cleary worries me, I think all that weight he lost is affecting his play just as I feared OK, bed time for me now, see you Monday night!

And then to complain about our 3rd goal being "lucky" after they scored on freaky bounces...... Instead of bitching about the refs, how about you complain about your captain having 1 SOG after 2 games? Or maybe how the 2nd 30mins the Wings totally dominated the game with no help from the refs?

lol, yeah. But for someone from a small town in England it seemed pretty exotic! As for Mac - I read that he is living with his wife. They are not "back together", but they are raising the kids between the 2 of them. I hope it works out for them, for all of their sakes.
