Much as I would love to see the Ducks dumped in the 1st round they've lost ONE game. Way to over-react. In fact, that article is one of the dumbest I've ever read. So dumb it could've been written by Drew Sharpe. Because the Ducks lost the first game 4-0, they're going to go on and win this series, win the 2nd round, but lose in the 3rd? What kind of logic is that?

Great article! 92-93 was my first year following the Wings as a 20yr old exchange student in Toledo, so in a way my life path has mirrored theirs as well (minus the millions of $$$ of course )

FWIW I think a Wings forum and a general NHL forum would be a good idea *However* You would still see countless Fedorov threads inthe Wings forum. "Should wings sign Fedorov?", "Should wings trade for Fedorov?", "Was Fedorov our best ever European?", "Should #91 be retired?" etc etc etc Furthermore, to call for a split in the General Discussion forum, just to get away from Sergei Fedorov threads is a little selfish don't you think?

I'm gunna miss this one - don't finish my shift till 2330 local (1830 ET) then quick turnaround to be back at 0600 local (0100 ET) so it's that horrible going to bed/getting up have the wings lost/have they won? Its wierd seeing all you guys stoked for the playoffs - I hate the playoffs. I can't stand the tension. I can't enjoy the games, on edge the whole time. And it usually all ends in disapointement Still, go Wings!

A couple of years ago there was a charity football (soccer) match organised by the singer Robbie Williams at Old Trafford - celebrities vs ex-internationals (including Diego Maradonna). Sergei played for the celebrities in central midfield. It was done as a kind of reality TV show over a week as the celebrity team got whittled down to the starting 11. Fedorov-in-giving-up-a-week-of-his-off-season-for-charity-shocker!!! But he's selfish and greedy and lazy and he sucks?!?! BTW, the best player on the pitch was Damien Lewis (Captain Winters in Band of Brothers) who was outstanding, but Sergei didn't disgrace himself. @GS&T - if you hate Feds threads so much, I suggest you don't read them. I read less than 10% of the threads here. Why? Because they don't intrest me. Fedorov was, and is, dearly loved by a lot of Wings fans, who would like to see the Caps do well because of him. Ironically, I've yet to see any Wings fans say they want the Rag$ to do well because of Shanny.....

Well, I'm in a dilemma here. I've not shaved for a week, so I've got some pretty serious beardy foundations in place - I'm at that horrible itches-like-hell-till-it-gets-a-bit-longer phase. I should shave tomorrow before game1 cos I'm kinda cheating right now, but I don't want to have to suffer the itch again. To further complicate things, Mrs Nev has just rung me at work and I'm on a promise for Friday night, provided I shave before then!!! Now for you young guys that might not seem like a big deal, but when you've married for 8 years and have 2 kids aged 3 months and 3 years, believe you me, you need to take advantage of every opportunity!! edit: ooh look, I made the 4th line

Great article - 13 points in 18 games for Feds, clearly he is rejuvinated like he said. As for his leadership, or alleged lack thereof in Detoit - when he was here there was a lot of veteran leadership ie Yzerman, Shanahan, Draper, Lidstrom, Chelios etc etc etc etc with 1 clear, undisputed leader. Any attempt by Fedorov to display more "leadership" would have no doubt been interpreted by the legions of Feds haters as him trying to usurp Yzerman. Because lets be honest, there have always been a core of Wings fans who hated him, no matter what he did. In Washington there is a young but talented team with very little experience, especially postseason experience. When a guy walks in with 1100 career points, 162 points in 163 postseason games, 1 Hart, 2 Selkes and 3 Stanley Cups - he's going to be looked up to by the young guys.

It actually ended up being Chara, Spezza and Luongo for nothing. Not to forget the other players he drafted then let go...Bertuzzi, McCabe...I saw a list once and it was actually a decent NHL roster. But Pierre is still an idiot.
