Other notes from the game * CBC started drooling all over the Hawks in the 1st, by the 3rd they were drooling all over the Wings * Toews crying more and more like a little girl the longer the game went on * Nice to see the refs letting the teams play. Even more so as it suits the Wings to not get into a special teams battle * Good to see Jimmy get the night off for once. The team owed him that.

Not only is he a rookie in his first playoffs, he's a rookie playing on the 2nd pairing when he should reallly be playing on the 3rd pairing due to our lack of defensive depth. And as if that wasn't enough, he's playing against a Blackhawks 2nd line that would be a 1st line on 1/2 of the teams in the NHL. So yeah, rookie defenceman, playing against all-stars. 1st period flub apart he had a solid game.

Well said, aside from his 5 points, there were a fair few other goals we scored this series where Cleary was screening the goalie and didn't get an assist. And as was pointed out in the game 7 GDT he was talking a lot to the rookies on the bench too. Sure the guys's body is breaking down, but why is it breaking down? Because this MAN has put his body on the line time after time after time for this team. Cleary is going to suffer for the rest of his life for what he has put his body through, a little more gratitude and respect from certain keyboard warriors would not be out of place, instead of the graceless, thankless running out of town that seems de rigeur.
