Well, history is not on your side then. It would be crime not to see Fedorov's jersey up there because he was one of the most important players on the team that finally brought Stanley Cup to Detroit. Things that happen off the ice are nothing compared to what he has done as a Red Wing, not to mention Fedorov was immature, perhaps cocky .. but all that is gone..just like the bad stuff he had done.

Fedorov likes money, like all people do, he wanted to get paid, so what. If he wanted to be the man on another team..who cares...all this does not matter, you get your number retired for what you have done on the ice and he did it all. He was an integral, perhpas even THE, part of the team that brought 3 Cups to Detroit. Fedorov's behaviour is not going to be an issue. Fedorov was better overall than Yzerman during those 3 runs.

Yeah, Fedorov is a locker room cancer. Sure. Lindsay - Fedorov is the perfect analogy. Fedorov spent his best years in Detroit, just like Lindsay. And while Lindsay is much better player, Fedorov was integral part of the Wings and he was better than Yzerman for some time too. He should get his number retired, he is a legend and one of the greatest players ever.

It's even worse then. You know that the offer was changed and you do not care. I would say what you are but I would get banned for that. edit: Also, you do know how Ted Lindsay left Detroit, right? And yet his jersey is up there. Fedorov was just as important as Lindsay to his team.
