not a chance Hall of Famers are supposed to be the best of best, Ozzie never was top3 goalie in the league. He is not even close to Roy, Hasek and other (future) HoFers.

Defence that consists of Nicklas Lidstrom, Brian Rafalski, Niklas Kronwall, Brad Stuart ( combined, these 4 make more than 20 million a year btw), Andreas Lilja and Brett Lebda just cannot allow that many goals. Apart from few bright spots here and there, they suck at this very moment as a group. LA Kings allowed LESS goals than the Red Wings, that should tell you something. Expectations are different for high paid (super)stars than for bunch of kids. Ozzie is not even average goalie at the moment. He's been great at times, but he also allowed way too many soft goals, but I would not be worried about him, he will be ready come playoff time As for effort, they are being outworked too often given the fact Babcock is the coach and their skill level, it seems like they do not have the motivation they need.

Wings lost because their defence sucks at the moment and only very few players show any effort whatsoever. Stop with these BS excuses, Wings are playing pretty bad hockey now, fortunately playoffs are far away.

I'd take Samuelsson. Although I hate him at times, he is the best overall player. Hudler is my second choice. Because Leino dominated the highest finnish league, his biggest flaw was supposed to be skating, but he looked pretty good. There is no doubt in my mind that he has the hands and brains to be very good player in the NHL. I hope he stays long enough to get a chance to play for the Red Wings.

Yeah. Exactly. Filppula is good defensively and average (at best) offensively = 3rd line center on good teams. He is overpaid, and I'd rather keep Samuelsson and Hudler than Filppula.

Filppula is 3rd line center. Leino is top6 winger. I think if Hudler or Sammy demand too much money then we could see Ville in Detroit the very next season.

Sammy for 1.2 million > Hudler for 1 million >> Filppula for 3 million Filppula can be easily replaced by Helm as a 3rd line center. Both of them are not gifted offensively, they are very simillar players.

Franzen will not demand 5 million, that's way too much considering Kronwall makes 3. If Hossa would accept 6.7 million, and 3.3 for the Mule, then maybe trading Filppula, Cleary, Hudler, and Lebda might be enough. If Chelios retires, that's another 0.75 million.

Because Wings gave up 52 goals in 16 games, whole defence is pretty bad now. Osgood is playing like an AHL goalie right now.
