What the hell does that mean? Defence is always way more important than offense. You can teach someone to be good defensive player..so what? How does that make offensively gifted player more valuable? Ovechkin would never score 60 goals if he was forced to play good defence. Yeah..in some fantasy league..sure.

Thats right, but Hudler is kinda Babcock's little *****. I doubt he will play 2nd line minutes for the entire season. I would not be surprised if he plays on 4th line with Drapes and Maltby for most of the season. He seems to be more efficent on 4th line than he is on 2nd line.

Yeah. 70 points is way too much for any forward on our team except for Z, Pav and Hossa (obviously). Seriously, only 38 forwards reached 70 points in 07/08 season. Filppula, Hudler, Cleary, Mule etc are not 70+ points players any time soon.

Yeah I do agree. Lidstrom is the best player for sure. Probably the best Red Wing since Gordie Howe.

Yes he did suck, just like everyone else on Sens and Trashers in those respective years. Hossa now is in his prime and he is better than old Brett Hull Wings picked up in 02, that's for sure. Hull in his prime is definitely better player than Hossa ever was up to this point though. And congrats for 5 posts in a row instead of just one..ever heard of quote function?

Lidstrom, Draper, Chelios and others will make sure that the desire is there, no doubt about that. Anything can happen and it's obviously very hard to repeat. On the other hand, Wings are in pretty good position right now and they have as good shot at the Cup as any other team. And Montreal Canadiens are far from being serious contender imho.

I like Filppula and I do agree with you. He is very good defensively and if he stays on 3rd line with Cleary and Sammy, then we have the best 3rd line in the NHL.

No surprises. Gordie is one of the top three greatest players ever..Steve Y is far behind him. Red Kelly is close behind Nicklas Lidstrom though. Sawchuk is also basically untouchable.

wow Filppula is not worth more than Dan Cleary. The deal seems bad now in my opinion, but it could be a steal in few years.

Makarov Larionov Krutov Kasatanov Fetisov And it's not even close. Not just 3 forwards with great chemistry but compact 5 man unit. They could do everything. Best in today's game..probably ZDH or Heatley Spezza Alfredsson.
