They have Giguere and Hiller, that is better combo than Giguere/Bryzgalov. Giguere is also much better than Bryzgalov, I do not understand how can eva think Bryzgalov is better. Trade Pronger? Why? He is the second best defenseman in the NHL, really brilliant idea to trade him for prospects and picks. Burke is very good GM, one of the best. Some people on here are biased and write ridiculous things about him.

Totally disagree. I do think Burke is overrated, but on the other hand he built the 07 Ducks. He traded Fedorov and got Beauchemin. No one really knew Beauchemin is solid defenseman. And he was a beast in 07 playoffs. Ducks defense before Burke became Ducks GM: Višněvskij, Ozolinš, Havelid, Salei, Škoula, Carney All gone. He traded everyone but Giguere/Bryzgalov; Pahlsson, R.Niedermayer, Getzlaf, Perry, Penner, McDonnald. And he built the team around them. haha 06 Phaneuf better than Hamrlik? LOL Aucoin, Leopold? Just wow.. Hamrlik is pretty good defenseman, he would be our 2nd or at least 3rd best defenseman. Orpik for 3.5 million is brutal deal, he was solid in finals, but he is below average defenseman. He has no offensive game, and usually sucks defensively. Yeah, give him 3.5 million for one good shift he had in the finals. Orpik would not even crack our lineup.

Jagr will play 2 more years either in the NHL or KHL. Definitely not in the Czech republic.

I agree. Bouwmeester has star potential, he could become elite defenceman in Detroit. It would be awesome to see him play for the Red Wings.

Lilja is solid 5th or 6th defenseman. There are not very many better 5-6th defensemen available. For 1 - 1.2 million he would be good asset to the Red Wings.
