Well, I think I do understand what he posted, maybe I am wrong. But sorry, I do not understand how can somene wish there was some way Downey could have played. He is not good enough to make our roster, it's that simple. I am happy he is good teammate and I do like him. Just a quick note..Downey played 56 games this year, he never played more games in the NHL.. figures..

I disagree. Well, just look at his work when he gets puck from corner or from behind the net back to Z or Pav, he is not overrated by any means. He is one of the best players in the corners and the best in front of the net. How is that overrated?

After game 4 and awesome play by Z on the 3on5 kill, there is little to no doubt he will win the Conn Smythe.

How can you "feel" for him? Who would he replace? Would you feel for the replaced player too? Team is the most important thing, not individuals. Downey is not even average player, it is completly OK that he does not play.

If we sign Stuart, Filppula, Ericsson and Howard..I will be happy. Hank and Mule should get long term contracts..I hope Kenny will do that asap. Drake will most likely retire. Chelios will play for 2 more years I think. Downey is not really needed, but for 0.5 million, why not. McCarty should retire or sign for minimum. I do hope Hasek retires. If we cannot make a deal with Brad Stuart, then we should go after Orpik or someone like that..a physical top4 defenseman.

Hudler might not be top6 forward but he is very good on 4th line with Helm. They should stay together. Sundin will sign with Leafs, we do not need him. McCarty can be replaced easily by Abdelkader, Leino or Axelsson. Lilja, Lebda, Ericsson, Meech, Chelios..any of them might be 5-6th defenseman Pyatt and Kindl are not ready yet imho. Larsson is very good and I would not be surprised if he beats Howard for no.2 spot. My ideal line-up: Zetterberg - Datsyuk - Holmstrom Franzen - Filppula - Cleary Maltby - Draper - Samuelsson Hudler - Helm - Abdelkader Lidstrom Rafalski Kronwall Stuart Ericsson Lebda/Lilja Ozzie Larsson/Howard
