If I'm Melrose, I pull Kolzig right now. Guaranteed goal this season.
-
I don't get that call, it was clearly kicked in. But I won't whine too much since it was going in regardless. They earned the goal.
-
Distinct kicking motion?
-
WTFFFFFFFF?
-
It's because we're lazy and we suck.
-
Naw, Hudler earned this visit to the bin.
-
What's your number, Harold?
-
Great pass between the legs by Z. Woo!
-
Nice block, Stuart.

What's maddening this season has been the officiating...both for and against us. I'll take the lead this time, but if I'm a Tampa fan right now I'm seeing red.
-
Stanley Cup rematch hangover, perhaps?
-
Which game on Tuesday? The one where we shot out to a three goal lead? Or the one where we blew a three goal advantage?
-
This Tampa color commentator is freaking awful. I can take some homerism, but please try to at least construct sentences that make sense. If they actually describe the game being played, all the better.
-
Heh, another PP. Maybe the conspiracy theorists are right about refs favoring the team down on the scoreboard after all. Not that I'm complaining ATM, mind you.
-
I'm stuck with the Tampa commentators. Boy does their color guy hate Homer.
-
No need to be disappointed for their 2nd period effort. The first was a little dodgy.
-
Yikes, Ozzie. That was scary.
-
Nice PP by the Wings. Raf looked great.

Not a mixed message at all. For the team to succeed, each individual must be achieving. By calling them all out, not as a group, but as individual players, he's made a clear statement that everyone in the lockeroom is accountable and needs to get their s*** straight. It would be bad form to call out anyone by name, obviously (either as over or under achieving relative to the group). This puts pressure not only on each player to start bringing their A-Game head, but to lean on the guy next to him to do the same. They are accountable not only as individuals, or as a team, but to one another as teammates. Management 101. EDIT: clarity

I'm interested in hearing your cases for Gallant and Primeau. I'm not being snarky, I just don't see it and would like to hear the counter-point. (For the record, I don't think any of those four get in, but Gerard and Keith interest me most)

Folks, it protects their heads. That's all it should be required to do. This isn't Project Runway.
-
If they still drank, I'd say Mac or Mickey. Both are genuine characters, both have been around the team for a long time and both mixed it up enough to have some seriously great stories. Plus I'd love to hear Mac's account of 3/26.

Forgot about Mark Howe as well, although he admittedly missed the arguable dynasty by a few years. And perhaps Mike Vernon.

I'm a relative Rex fan, but I've got better wheels than he does. Sheesh.

Interesting comparison that they've made here. 6'5", but plays like Lidstrom? The only advantage I could see there would be the reach on his poke check, and if he played anything like Nick, that would seem a waste of his size. I mean, if you're that big, why NOT throw the body around and intimidate some? A player with a frame that size should look to Chara or Pronger for inspiration first, Nick second. Of course, I admittedly say all of this without having seen a nanosecond of the kid on the ice.
