I will sign if I can keep my number!

Something I just thought about... I completely agree with the number 16 being honored in such a manner. Considering the circumstances that were, I would also like to see the same done for "2".

Garret Stafford recalled by the Wings

The situation with Meech ultimately lead to Quincey falling back to Grand Rapids, not Kindl. Besides, it was Ericsson who turned heads this past camp.

Garret Stafford recalled by the Wings

I do believe that was prior to the 06-07 campaign.

NHL GM's Declare War on Goalies

    Secondary Scoring Slump issue.

if i remember correctly, the 2007 postseason was flips coming out party. as i've stated before, no team can ever have enough depth. and, i'm all for adding that depth so long as we don't sacrifice anything significant. in order for triggers to be pulled, everythings gotta add up. and believe me they will. not trying to stir anything up here Dabura, but who might you have in mind? i'm onboard, i'm just having a difficult time justifying anything i come up with.

    Maxim Afinogenov

ufa after next season (in the books at 3.5). it's an interesting thought, and no doubt will come at a much lesser cost than either sundin or hossa. that is if buffalo would even entertain the thought. if i remember correctly, he's been some what of an enigma for the sabres. seems like i caught a broadcast or two last year? definitely something for us to debate. lol.

    Forsberg turns down Swedish club

sound reasoning... i question how brilliant this would look if we had none of the three to start the 08-09 season however. everyones bitching about secondary scoring now. seriously, "infinitely more valuable"?

    Forsberg turns down Swedish club

I personally want very little to do with Hossa, and absolutely nothing to do with Sundin. The price these two are going to command will be ludicrous. I don't understand how adding a guy like Mats in exchange for Filpulla, Hudler or even a combination of both (plus prospects?) would be beneficial to this organization. Look, the Stanley Cup's not a lock if he were to be acquired. And let's face it, he wouldn't stick around...he's stricktly a rental. (To those who suggest "he might"; is that really money well spent?) Honestly if your going to spend, why not lock up a younger guy? Someone we can continue to build around, someone a little like Hossa. But then again, Hollands entire logic is to stockpile depth and this would only be counterproductive. I'm not saying a deal won't be done, but I can assure you the only reason one does get done is if it ABSOLUTELY makes sense. Sundin don't, Hossa might and Forsberg does.

    1st Rounders Around The League

Went back the past ten [edit: 11] drafts and this is what I've come up with... 1997 - No first 1998 - Jiri Fischer 1999 - No first 2000 - Niklas KronWall (not KronVall) 2001 - No first 2002 - No first 2003 - No first 2004 - No first 2005 - Jakub Kindl 2006 - No First 2007 - Brendan Smith Take it for what it's worth. It's unfortunate what happened to Fisch. I absolutely loved the guy. Holland and company did the rest of the league a favor in dealing those firsts. Could you imagine?

From what I've heard Jacob's had a rough go of it thus far this year. What's the deal? I'm looking to those who actually take in the GR games. What are your accounts of the youngster? Any insight would be appreciated.

Sat. Hotstove: Rob Blake to the Wings?

mats would certanly be interesting. and, in my ultra biased opinion, there's no doubt the wings are the class of the league. the organization oozes with it for chr... however, he's 38, there's talk of retirement after this season. then again, say he decides he does wanna stick around for a couple more years, what's he going to cost us? will we be able to wiggle both him and z into the teams plans. chances are it's goin to be one or the other, i vote z. definetely understand where you're coming from, i just hate the idea of prospects and picks. especially this years first, looks like a very strong group.
