championships are won with defense. sticking with the "if it's not broke don't fix it" idea, our offense ranks amongst the upper echelon does it not? i'm all about stockpiling talent, however, i think it will be much more difficult to do with offensive players this year. look at the names being thrown around, toronto's going to ask for a kings ransom if they're willing to deal sundin. in this salary cap era, you've gotta build from within and i'm not willing to risk what would be needed to get that type of deal done. or anyone for that matter! i'm all about standing pat, but if holland wants to go after someone to improve the team please let it be something we could seriously use. ala; blake, foote, big bad ass defensemen. again, not necessary... i'm perfectly happy with this team as it is.

odd isn't it. i've noticed this too. sammy's a streaky player, when he's on... he's on! there's no arguing that. i'm just hoping the guy turns it around here pretty quick. if nothing more, for my own sanitys sake!

I honestly like the idea of Franzen movin up to play with z and huds. But I'd really like to see the big line reunited. Cause it felt sooo good! Z-D-H Huds-Flip-Franzen Clears-Draps-Malts Drake-Kopy-...Downey Let sammy sit for a little while. I like the guy, but I'm all about "the what have you done for me lately" school of thought. I guess you could argue you might sit Kopecky, but I believe he tends to try and play to the level of his line mates. Downey and Drake, yes Drake, both scream intensity. I think it would serve him well. If it doesn't work, sammy is substituted in.

this is what i particularly like about a seven game series, as a team you evolve from game to game. you can't really take much from this one, boys did come out a little flat but really picked it up late. wasn't enough, but someone made some adjustments and that's what i enjoy seeing. i believe we've been in a little funk of late, and it wouldn't surprise me if several of the players were feeling a little under the weather. not making excuses here, just speculating. no need to panic and call for heads to roll. the fact that the final score was 3-2 is encouraging in itself. just as we may have exposed a weakness or two of our own, there's no doubt ottawa may have as well. as a side note, i'm not sure who'd the organization could replace either sammy or kopy (let alone both) with at this point. love to hear your suggestions.

Good to hear, hopefully the boys are starting to turn things around down on the farm. Kind of surprised to hear Meech is around that. I think we all thought scoring would be a little thin in GR this year (alot of new faces after all), but to this extent? Hate to look past this year, however it sounds like there might be a solid influx of scoring potential next season. Here's to knocking on wood. Keep us updated. Thanks for the post.

that's only like... a little under 30 percent. perfection required. power forward would be nice, i'm sure several other teams are saying the same thing. with that said, i don't think it's necessary.

agreed. hasek played lights out tonight. puck had eyes on the third goal, must of went through about 3 bodies not including hasek. can't blame this one on him. came out flat first two periods and started to settle down the final ten minutes of the game. unfortunately you can expect to win a game when you only play ten minutes of a sixty minute competition. penalty to "perfect nick" of all ppl put us in a tough spot late in the game. wasn't so much a superior team that beat us tonight. they came to play from the drop of the puck, we showed up a little too late for this one. congrats to them.

haven't seen the clip, but i've seen babs short with ppl before. guarantee he's a little miffed at the play of his team tonight as a whole. didn't really execute, and i assure you that's the only thing that matters to the man. wouldn't read too much into it, matter of fact i like the sounds of babs all pssy. maybe he'll lite a fire under the boys.

I've looked, believe me I've looked at his stats. That's why I've posted this question; furthermore,I strongly feel stats can be misleading at times. Stats by the way; 2-6-8 -20. Negative 20! How is this possible? Does he see a lot of kill time? Who does he pair with a majority of the game? Are there other factors in play here? Simply...what's the deal!? Kid was highly touted coming in from Kitchner, hell he almost made the team out of camp last year. Where's he stand and what are your impressions of him as a player? That Grittz is what I'm trying to get at here. I rarely make a Griffs game and am hoping someone who does can enlighten me on this "regression" of sorts. Guess I'm looking for an explanation for these numbers.
