In '03, it was "who the f**k is Sebastian Giguere?", until he swept the Wings out of the playoffs with a series of 1-0 and 2-1 wins...on their way to a finals appearance. Kiprusoff followed in '04. Where was his playoff sucess before Detroit??? Hopefully Ellis' "legend" won't be created in the next 48 hours. If so, we can create a Mt. Rushmore of goaltenders who have done the most to destroy what would have been an amazing 13 year dynasty with potentially 7 hoistings of Lord Stanleys Cup. Today, we're looking at a 4-2 Wings victory. Cleary scores an e.n. goal after a heart stopping flurry of saves from Ozzie! This one won't be for the weak hearted! I have to give props to my cousin, who is on the Nashville city council. He voted for a package that should keep the team around for a while. Whether you agree or disagree that NHL teams should have infiltrated the deep south or not, the Preds have been a sucess in Nashville, much more so than Carolina, or the Florida Panthers. They don't deserve to have their team plucked and moved to southern Ontario or the west. Here's to a continued rivalry with the Preds!
