god they look flat. can't even get the puck out of their own zone

ozzie has always been an inconsistent up and down goalie. that goal last night that he let in when he should have been jammed on the post pissed me off. i feel like he's not as comfortable this season cause he feels that its on him to carry the team. last year he had hasek and they worked well 2gether as a tandom. not alot of pressure cause they each knew that the other guy was capable of backing them up. i like conklin and i think he's a solid goalie but i dont know that ozzie is comfortable enough with him to just let it go and me comfortable in net. that said, the d needs to tighten up a bit too. i keep feeling like the wings are playing terrible but their record is pretty darn good. we'll be ok, i just hope the d solidifies and the goalies start to settle in. we cant count on 5+ goals a night....

i'd do it for $1000 bucks maybe less...but honestly its not a big deal anymore. i really have no intrest in any other nhl teams. there are some players i follow but thats about it. i will say i have respect for sakic and i always thought chris drury was a good player.

that was one of the best games the wings have played this season. they dominated. the d was solid. ozzie was good and seemed to get better as the game progressed. the shots on goal was impressive too.

we have solid prospects so we should be fine there. and don't forget that whenever lidstrom does decide to retire (note: I AM NOT SAYING I WANT THIS) we will free up a bunch of cap space to go after another big time player or several solid players.

i worry because i dont want to see this giving up 3 goals + a night turn into the story of the season. On paper the wings have what ought to be one of the top defensive units in the nhl. but lately the defense and goaltending has been more like what fans in toronto are used to then what wings fans expect to see. and its not like the wings played great defense for one season and then are falling back into an old pattern. we are used to seeing excellent d. I can't recall seeing this many high scoring games in years. Hossa has been a beast. If we had not signed him we very likely would not have the relatively impressive record that we do. (apologies for the "we's" to those of you who are offended)

if u can't stand larry murphy, put the radio broadcast on and just turn off the sound on ur tv. problem solved.

even though i think melrose is an a incredible tool, he got a raw deal. seriously what did the tampa management expect? to do from horrible to incredible in one season? granted they somehow managed to win the cup several years ago (a complete fluke) so i guess they feel that they should be better, but its a lot to expect that fast of a turnaround with a coaching change.

there basically wasnt a fight. a couple missed punches and some wrestling. there is nothing to that "fight". i'll wait for a real bout before passing judgement on mac

as much fuss as we are all making over the 4th line ( and for the record i would love to see some of our young guys out there everynight) the problem i'm seeing is breaking down defensively. this is getting ridiculous how many goals are going in against us and the number of games we've been in ot already. it feels like we're allowing 3 or 4 goals a night. grrrrr!!! -much respect to mac and malts, they need to retire -dump kopecky -sammy gets a lot of assists so i would keep him. -wings are going to have to get rid of some people and fill those spots with helm, leino, and abdalkader if there is any hope of keeping hossa, mule and z
