whatever. baseball is the more boring to watch than bowling. hell curling is more exciting than baseball. i know hockey is much more exciting to watch than baseball, so i wont let it bother me. and cbs kinda blows anyways...i mean how can you respect a station that doesnt carry hockey?

i just heard on the grand rapids news that hossa flew with the team to colorado, but he wont play. still that sounds like pretty good news. if he had any sort of injury requiring speacial care i would think he would have gone right back to detroit or have stayed in the hospital. everything i've heard is that he'll be fine. big sigh of relief! edit: oops guess this was already out.

why is everyone so high on ericsson? i'm not saying he sucks, or that he screwed up but what is it that makes everyone here so willing to put the cup run in his hands?
-
leino. nothing makes you step up like a bit of competition.

when is homer supposed to be back?

well the hossa situation sounds better than we first expected. i sure hope he;s ok. the guy has been huge for this team and for us fans. Speedy recovery Hos!

man i switched the game on right as that happened. sucks.

honestly it didnt look like a cheap shot. he didnt drive him hard. some of this for sure has to do with the fact that he already had an injury. and theres the hand wave

btw you will have a hard time finding one sports fan in the world who is that polite.

some people are just clueless. it's common courtesy to not get up in the middle of play. that said, it will happen. i;ll give you a break if you do it once but if you keep doing it i'll say something. it always bugs me when people start taking off early just to try to beat traffic. i can understand leaving a game if your team is killing the other team, or getting killed. i guess its not that much different from turning the game off when ur watching at home. i def think the type of fans you see at wings games has changed since 2000. in the 90s it seemed like there were a lot more middle/working class people coming in and filling the place up. I'm sure the horrible economy and the auto companies falling apart has accounted for a large part of this, but also i think for a lot of wings fans, they don;t get really pumped until playoff times. with 82 reg season games to watch and being of a fan of a team that is expected to win the vast majority of those games, fans get a bit complacent and would rather spend money on a game they know is going to be exciting. plus watching games in hd is about as good as it gets without being at the game.

um yah he was ready to retire because his career really wasn't going anywhere. he wasn;t getting any interest from other clubs. and u really need to cool the f*** down. i dont think you've made one post since you joined in which you didn't go nuts on someone else's post. constructive criticism is appreciated. we;re all wings fans, you don't have call everyone you disagree with a dumbass.

i think the tough thing about this team is they have so many extremely talented players that all can score. I don't think there is another team out there that has near the number of talented goal scorers the wings do. But that is where the other teams fill spots with big bodies who can fight and throw their weight around. The wings have so many great players, that you want to keep them all. Our 4th line which is where the "enforcers" are supposed to be is too old unfortuantely. I think they have played well lately but i'm not sure that this team really needs to look to their 4th line for scoreing. none of our d men fight either as we saw from the lilja debackle. and i guess u dont necessarily need fighters, but you need some one to back up our skilled guys and make sure that when an opposing player hits them, that one of our players hits him right back and twice as hard. We dont really have any players who can send a message with their physicallity. I thought kronner was going to be that guy but he doesnt seem to have the killer instinct anymore if he ever did have it. Franzen also could throw his weight around a bit more but he seems to have gotten a liitle soft since he has become a great goal scorer. nothing agianst the guy.

i wouldn't say downey is really fighting for a spot or that the wings are looking to trade him. basically no one wanted him at the start of the season and the wings offered him a spot in gr that he took just because he really had no other options.

Rumor: Red Wings Aquire Mathieu Dandenault from Montreal Canadiens for
redwing_sparty replied to Herr Hockey's topic in General
tsn did report earlier this week that dandenault asked to be moved. seems like, though, any team looking to trade with the wings would ask for more than a 5th rounder, though on second thought i guess dandenault isnt worth that much -
meh, classic cherry, nevermind the fact that nearly everyone on that team played their ass off to win the cup last season, one (admittidly horrible) game and every player on the wings is a ***** who couldn;t play against a canadian to save their life. oooooo im soo sacared! we def need canadians like crosby if we dont want to lose right? whatever. i love the wings and their style. they win more than the rest of the nhl so i dont see a problem. one bad game doesnt mean ur toast.
