only thing i can think of for why this is taking so long is that we're still in the hossa deal. if that was a done deal with montreal it seems like it would have come out already.

with all the cap space we have, i have to believe that kenny has got something in the works. REMEBER kenny is not an idiot! just b/c we havent heard anything yet doesn't mean nothing will happen. some of the best deals happen seconds before the deadline. that said IF we don;t do anything i will be sick.

skipping class to study; have been watching trade deadline all day. they just said holland is going to be the show in a few. god this sucks waiting around. we better do something or i'll wasted about a week of my life reading message boards. all the guys on this show suck, mainly b/c some of them are the same ones on nbc. god this deadline has sucked so far!

kopecky is a nobody; rafalski is an established player. it really depends on a who the player is in the team that is aquiring the new guy. Dats, Malts and Cheli are all vets and established wings. they would not be asked to give up there numbers nor should they be. In the case of #16, Hull used to wear 16, and he took 17 when he came here, i.e. 16 is off limits. Also, i recall reading in the book that came out about the wings 97 cup run, that when shanny came here they made the guy who was wearing 14 give up his number for shanny. though seeing as i don;t recall the name of the guy who used to where 14, he likely was not a big player. so i guess it all depends on the situation

1. i would give up huds and flip in a heartbeat for hossa. i like flip but he just doesnt have the same presence as dats or z. huds is a nice guy, but i dont see him longterm panning out. 2. (this is a joke) i think we should try to trick atlanta in too taking sammy and one of the other guys. haha 3. question: i've seen some posts about getting hossa and feds. is that financially possible with the cap? (i apologize if i missed a post from one of the cap guys who have this all figured out.)

If we get hossa, flip is gone for sure. he will def be part of that trade. there is noone else who we could ship out (that we're willing to lose) that would make that trade good for atlanta.

i think it all depends on if the current roster (all the brought up players) can win enough games to stay in first and keep home ice (we're 5 games ahead of dallas). these next few games should be telling. HOME ICE IS KEY THOUGH!!! it should (if things were perfect) prevent you from starting series down 2 games going into 3. If they can keep winning enough, rest them a bit, but they need to be playing the last 10 games or so.

i'll judge him by what i see over the next few games. if he can throw big hits and still play smart hockey then he could be just what we need. wouldn't mind seeing him rock iginla

this should be a great pick up for us. he should come very cheap, so we can still make some good moves at the deadline. He has more to play for than drake does so I think he will give a better effort. They ought to bring him up as soon as the sign him, and put him in the game against edmonton. Then they can really evaluate what they need to work with him on to make sure he's ready for a playoff run. Remember the hat-trick in game one against colorado in 02? sweeeeeet!

exactly. colorado was missing some big players last night (not that we weren't). they are not as bad as they looked.

as bummed as i was that lids got knocked out of the game, i really enjoyed watching meech play more. I was impressed with his work on the powerplay, especially his slapshot from the point. obviously i hope lids is fine and is back asap; that said, i think meech has some real potential.

quincey had gotten out of position. he was supposed to be playing to the left of osgood. either way neither of them saw the dude sitting there behind the net which basically just sucked.

i haven't seen meech enough to really have made up my mind on meech. like i said, i liked what i saw from him tonight. quincy was pretty solid in the playoffs last year. but he was way out of position on that goal dallas scored on sunday so that pissed me off.
