Usually, a goalie's job is to block shots. He makes great saves until we are winning. He can never hold a lead it seems. Regardless of what the defense do, the goalie is the last line of defense. If the team gives him a 2 goal lead, he should be able to make a couple key saves to keep it. I didn't watch tonight's game but I have noticed this all season. If we have a lead and Jimmy is in, we almost always lose it.

Man, some of you are unbelievably negative. They played pretty damned good tonight. The power play seemed flat? Just because they didn't score doesn't mean it was flat. That was some of the best PP looks I have seen from the Wings in some time, now. Alffy helps BIG time on the PP. Our D was great as well. The one goal they scored was to a flub by Howie, which wasn't that really that bad anyway and in my opinion was more of a good play by the Buffalo player. People already looking forward to getting big bert off the team? He was responsible for some of our best chances tonight. I know Buffalo is weak but there were points when we were dominating with surgical precision that quite frankly brought back memories of the Russian 5 for me, especially on the PP. It seems some people just aren't satisfied unless it's a blow out. Criticize, criticize, criticize. That is the MO here. It's quite ridiculous.

People arguing points is kind of silly. It's a different era. Stevy Y would not have had the same amount of points had he started in 2001-2002 with Datsyuk. I think Pavs has meant as much to the current era as Stevy did. Yes there is a crossover obviously, but Pavs was just rising when Stevy was finishing up. Hank to me is a little inconsistent. I think Pavs should go up there...not right away, but eventually. I think Feds should go up too, but I doubt it will ever happen.

regardless of anything, the "video test" showing an ANA pick going to DET is a little odd. Two teams that are rumored to be talking and then that just happened to be the test the video techs did? I'm not convinced it's happening but that was quite the coincidence and as V says, "There is no such thing as coincidence, there is only the illusion of coincidence."

I don't know if anyone saw but after the Kings/Sharks game last night, there was a commercial advertising the conference finals and it had the two already decided eastern teams and then the Wings and Kings...I think that means we're good and the NHL has already decided the out comes.
