If you're already counting the fourth cup, shouldn't you count the 6th norris?

Yah this summer I am gonna order an authentic edge jersey from sportsk...probabaly Franzen or Kronwall with a slight chance of Zetterberg. Good prices and GREAT quality.

I know it wasn't! We got eliminated first round 5 years ago. Ok being a smartass aside, i know what he means but anyone who can make theirselves be "done" with the nhl, isn't an actual hockey fan.

that's not the point though man. Rating don't go up because people who ALREADY follow the NHL are watching. It's the random people at home that haven't watched a game for ten years and are like "oh hey look, it's the finals...oh s*** and detroit is playing, I remember years ago when they were always on top" and things of that nature. For example, I don't watch football at all but I remember when the dallas cowboys used to be damn good back when I was younger so if the super bowl was on and I wasnt doign anythign and they were playing, I might sit and watch it because it's a familiar team. I couldn't name one player on the team and I have NO clue who the hotshots in the NFL are, or the "face" of their league. So i'd go by team names not player names. I'm not saying crosby isn't keeping anyone interested because there are some hockey fans that could stop watching once their team is eliminated but they like watching crosby play, so they keep watching the finals, but if you are telling me a bunch of kings, leafs, stars, avs and devils fans are what is making the ratings jump so drastically, then i don't know what to say.

the national following thing is dame true....being a wings fan out here in southern california, I always love all the kings fans bitching how there are more red jerseys at staples than kings jerseys when they are out here.

very cool man, I've got a datsyuk red one with the 2002 patch but remember if the 2002 patch is on there, it dates the jersey and is no longer a home jersey haha.

Underrated: Helm, I need no argument, he's amazing and plays balls to the wall everynight. He makes the best out of the 6 or 7 minutes he gets. Overrated: Holmstrom - I hate to say this because I love the guy so much but aside from his irritation skills in front of th enet, he is a very very sloppy skater AND puckhandler. I agree with the guys statements above who said mule is over and underated. I thought it was ridiculous when he got hurt and everyone started panicing, same thing I thought yesterday when Holmer was hurt and everyone viewed it as a death curse. On the flipside though, people wh oare just viewing this as an extended streak need to get with it, the mule's game is here to stay. The only guy I really see us falling apart without is Lids and we saw it already this season, granted we had other injuries, but once he went down, the s*** hit the fan. *EDIT* Oh and I wanna add this too... Rafalski is VERY overrated, when people are saying him and lids are the two best in the league, I beg to differ, Lids is the best, no doubt, but I don't think Raffy is even the 2nd best on the team, to me Kronner is our second hot shot d-man and no I'm not saying it because his big hits, the guy is an incredibly sound d man with a great vision of the game, the cross ice passes he makes remind me just of Lids, he will shine beyond all belief some day so there's another guy I think is extremely underrated, now that I think about it, more so than helm even.

sorry the average household does not know who sidney crosby is. They know who the redwings are because of their domination of the last decade or so. They probabaly don't know many if any players on the wings, BUT they know the team. They are the best ratings since 2002, coincidence?

I agree, the reffing has been pretty even. I mean for f***'s sake we got a PP when we were down by 1 with about 3 minutes left and we blew it, that's the wings fault, not the nhl's.

with a groin injury you can skate under your own power quite easily...it just hurts to do so.

i sure hope so, that's what started his league wide domaination in the first place. If Holmer is out, am I the only one who doesn't look at it as putting us in deep s***? I mean, really when it comes down to it, yah he bugs the goalies alot, but since he came back from his injury, in my eyes, he hasn't been the same old Holmer which makes it quite obvious, he probabaly never healed completely and the the guy a couple posts above could be dead on. I tend to think it's true. If we get the line of ZDMule, I am completely ok with Holmer being out, we won without Franzen and to me, he is more important than Holmer at this stage.

I'm not really concerned... Even IF Holmer is hurt and can't play next game, the lines could look like this... Datsyuk-Zetterberg-Franzen Cleary-Flip-Sammy Drakes-Drapes-Malts Huds-Helm-Mac That first line is nothing short of DEADLY.

I didn't see Franzen using a cane when he walked around your whole ******* team tonight. One win and all of the sudden you think you're on top of the world huh? Nashville and Dallas fans thought the same way...

I very much agree with your assesment of pavs and hank when they are not scoring, you are dead on but I think that the whole "out of nowhere gol scoring machine fals to a concussion and comes back" story will help johan, but like I said, I think in order for that to happen, he needs to have atleast one more BIG game. Datsyuk probabaly deserves it but he stays under the radar so much that I'm not sure he will get it but he surely has ben incredible through out this post season.

I agree! I know we haven't won yet but I believe we will and if Franz happens to get a big goal in one of the next two wins, perhaps a game winner or something or just has a decent multi point night, I think he will get it. It was said writers vote. The writers haven't been too friendly to the wings...except the Mule. He'd have just as many or more points as anyone else if he didn't miss 6 games and I think that will strongly be brought into consideration.

Big ******* deal if he's not consistent. We only have three VERY consistent players on this team and they are Nick, Pavs and since March, The Mule. Everyone else (including Z) can be very streaky and inconsistent. Stewey is a great ******* player to have as the NUMBER FOUR D man. If he was our number one D, I'd be worried like all hell but he is 4 and plays the part accordingly.

the reffing wasn't all that bad tonight. Sure thee were a couple missed calls but when are there NOT? You can't catch everything but they did pretty good tonight. We got a PP with 3 minutes left down by 1 goal. That's OUR fualt for not capitalizing, not the refs fault we didn't have more PP's. The worst missed call was the high stick on nick...he was bleeding from it which mean if it was caught it would have ben a 4 minute PP. Aside from that there were only a couple missed calls I saw but I saw them going the other way too, Mule set a pick at one point and quite frankly in hockey that's called interference most the time but overall it was an evenly called game and this is coming from someone who HATES O'halloran(i'm pretty sure we all do, but whatever).

yah I don't know how many times I found myself asking "why does franzen have to do it al himself?". He was amazing tonight on O and D. The rest of the team played pretty bad..yet we still came close, so I'm not worried. I was kind of hoping they could split in pittsburgh so let's hope that'll be the case and we can wrap it up at home. Homer seems to be hurt... Bad news: If he can't play next game, well...we have no holmer Good news: If he can't play next game, we might get to see a whole game of ZDMule and that to me is the best line we can have. Mule does every thing Holmer does but with 10 times the skill. He might not be quite as annoying for the goalies but he doesn't need to be because the skill he has makes up for it. Anyhow, I hate that we have to wait till saturday for gm 3...either way, GO WINGS.
