wow, I have time warner cable and have the same issue, its saying cage fighting, though hockey central is still on after it, so I have a feeling it's just a mistake, especially being how it's game 6, so it's one of the "if neccessary" games so this could of ben scheduled before hand but now that there's a game 6, it's not going to be on. any how GO WINGS!

I'm totally pumped for tomorrow's game. All of the sudden Detroit is a desperate team and a Desperate Red Wings team isn't an easy thing to handle. I'm very confident in the team for tomorrow.

because downey's skating ability goes as far as skating across the ice to a guy he wants to fight, then to the box ad then back to the bench. He's useless in playoff hockey.

yah I'd say anyone who thinks franz is comin back is being more than optomistic. It's pretty obvious he's done for the season. Something seems to be quite wrong and they just aren't letting us know. I'm sure tomorrow we will get the official word, no franzen for gm 6, though he continues to work on the bike and is a feeling a little better, whether the next game be the finals or a gm 7, we will get the same report a day before the game. It's terrible that this has happened, the guy was playing his best hockey ever and out of nowhere gets sidelined. I honestly believe, this series wold be well over if he was still playing, 1 goal was all we needed to tie it today and 2 the game before, with how he plays in front of the net, whther it was his goal or not, I think those goals could have been made up for. But, here's to the rest of team who is very capable without the mule, they just need to pick up the intensity and play like a desperate team.

yah I agree something needs to change just to shake things up ya know, I originally didn't think franzen being out would damage us so much, but we NEED the Mule, our second line is lost without him. I don't know if clears could score on an empty net right now, just having a lot of bad luck, it's not even that he's playing bad or anything, he's just not hitting the net. Yeah Mac isn't really neccessary, he's not providing tons of grit(dally is doing just fine in that dept.) and he doesn't score, so I think abdelkader might be a good choice as well. Cheli I can go either way on, because Llls has his advantages but sometimes he makes the DUMBEST plays that can cost a series, so I don't know, I'd think about putting meech in there before both of them, I think that guy's awesome.

I've never been skeptical of him. Right after his rookie season when we won the cup, I got a datsyuk jersey with the cup patch on it and everything. He pretty much immediately became my second favorite player that season right behind stevy. I always knew he would eventually excel. I remember wearing the jersey right when I got it to a hockey practice and some other kid questioned why I got a jersey of him and I told him that he'd be the future of the team...6 years later, looks like I was right on with that statement. Though I must admit, this season I have seen such an incredible improvement in his whole game that it's honestly quite ridiculous. There wil be four guys surrounding him and somehow pavs pops out of the pile with the puck. I've never watched a player that consistently makes my jaw drop every game like he does.

My dad's from pittsburgh. We already have a 100 dollar bet in place if the series happens and it is getting more and more likely every day now. Needless to say, I'm looking forward to the extra 100 bucks in my pocket. Aside from that, I think you guys turn the puck over way too much, atleast that;s what I saw in the game I watched a few days ago. Turn the puck over at the Wings blue line and you'll pay dearly...just like my dad is gonna!

growing up a kid of the 90's, I've got to say, I loved the glow puck and the NHL on FOX. Granted, back in 97 and 98, I was only between the ages of 11-12 so it probabaly had alot more appeal for that reason but now when I watch old videos, I catch myself thinking "that was so cool"...maybe just out of the nostalgic sense, but I wouldn't mind it. You surely could see what was going on on plays along the inside boards much better and the slap shots with a red stream of light just seemed so much more powerful haha.

exactly! that's kind of my point. It's not as if it were a possible series clinching game for the cup with 30 seconds left, up by 1 and a faceoff in our defesive sone with the other teams goalie pulled that franzen would be out there. Dats, Z and Lids for surely would though (as would drapes and raffy) but that's all I was trying to say, it was nothing against the mule but we went pretty much the whole season without the franzen of these playoffs, I don't see it making a difference now.

nothing against franzen because he has been great and all and his goal streak is amazing but pittsburgh losing crosby or malkin would be like us losing datsyuk or zetterberg. Sure franzen has more goals but he is still nowhere near the calibur of player of pavs or hank. All the "oh wow, the wings can win without franzen?" articles are getting old. I love the guy and reallly hope he's ok but fact is, this is a team and he's not even one of the top 3 most important players on it, so to the fans and mostly the media, please stop the non sense.

You realize there is a game day thread for every game? You don't need to make your own thread for your thoughts on each game, your "notes" are no more important than anyone elses.
