The Red Wings will never be an eastern team for the pure fact that many organizations, especially in the central division depend on ticket revenue when the Wings are in town. For example the Nashville Predators and the St. Louis Blues. And to realistically think that Bettman will do anything out of favor for teams with attendance issues like Nashville, Atlanta, and Phoenix is crazy talk. Columbus would be first to go, if there was ever a shift of a team to the east. Say Vegas got their team. Being a former resident of Las Vegas, I can understand that there is a reason why major sports have never been a part of this city. The constant negativity that surrounds gaming among professional sports. This is also a city full of travellers and low paid hospitality workers. Placing a team there that would have to depend on the hotel/casinos to comp tickets and so on, is risky. And for the nhl to have one more franchise that has attendance issues, that depends on other teams like the Wings and Rangers to visit frequently to boost revenue doesn't sound like good planning. especially when people are spending hundreds of millions of dollars getting a team there.

The clip was on xm 204 this morning. He pretty much said what the op stated, but to add to it. Cheli went on to say, he was pissed about having to be there, he was just in a s***ty mood. Supposedly when he got there, he said something to some people about putting the Cup upside down. Cheli then was saying Quincey was about 2 seconds from poppin Elliot for it. I guess Quincey was fuming about the incident, but held back. It was a pretty funny interview with Cheli, he tried to hold back at profanity about Elliot, and proceeded to call him an idiot or something.
