Does anyone on here feel like, he has to start over and compete for ice time like a more junior player when he returns? Say we go far in the playoffs, and certain guys that weren't really standouts before, start to shine. I just think he was really making progress and impressing the staff with his grit. Hopefully he is able to leave off where he was without losing a step.

I ponder that style of offense as well, but I think back at how many goals I have seen go in from the point from our D or the bad angle side shots. It's just how we do things here, and its working.

I like Hudler. I would like for him to come out and be a superstar someday, hopefully in Detroit. But he has to step up and be more consistent with his play. I think he played a good first round, and I hope he has a good second round. But I wouldn't go comparing him to Cleary. Everyone thinks that Cleary scores the occasional goal. Cleary does so much in the trenches, so much of the dirty work. Thats why he is making the big bucks now. Cleary always reminds me of the movie "Rudy" . He is small and doesn't quit. If Hudler and Flip did more of that, they would get more credit, minutes, and probably goals.

Maybe someone can help me with this. Why isn't it considered a shot on goal if the puck hits the goal post? I have never heard why. It just seems like if there was a closer shot on goal then hitting the post, it would be a goal.

Stats like this really make an opposing goalie look really good. Say we take 36 shots and Ellis lets in 2, and we win the game. He still has saved 34 freakin saves. The losing goalie usually ends being the 3rd star of the night!

Thanks. I am not sure who I despise more the team or their fans. I live about 20 minutes from Anaheim. So all I hear is Stanley Cup s***. If the Stars hang on here, I will go out to my street and yell about it all, and wave my Redwings huge flag. Bunch of Duck fans on my street! I love pissing off my neighbors! lol.

If we play the Aves then fine, whatever. But I will never, never, never, ever root for the Colorado Avalanche to win a hockey game. Granted a good rivalry once, but I remember being at a couple of the games, and the tension that filled the air when these teams were just on the ice together. Hell, it was tense even in the warmups pre-game skate. I remember being at the Pepsi Center wearing my Red Wings jersey. I was ready to throw down as well. I got into a couple of situations with Ave's fans. Just standing in line at the concessions stand, waiting in line for the bathroom. The rivalry was that big. I am still pissed at them for what turtle boy did to Draper. It was very personal at the time.

Just because Lidstrom is a pretty passive guy in his day to day life, and when you see him in an interview, doesn't mean he's a wuss! There is a reason he has that C on his jersey. Lidstrom has worked for the respect of the officials, opposing players, his teammates, and us as fans. And he deserves every bit of it. You don't think that he has a word for consideration when there is a meeting of captains and refs, c'mon? No offense to the person who started this thread, but I think your a little off base!

1. I wore my Cheli jersey to the Sadledome in Calgary last January when they played the Kings. 2. I always wear it to Anaheim games whenever they play anyone.

yeah I can imagine. I travel quite a bit throughout the US and Canada, and the time changes always screws me up. But your time change is 8 hours, yikes!
