As a lot of you people on here know I do live in the Ducks market. I live about 25 miles from Honda Center, and work about 6 miles from it. The buzz is definetly not here this year. Duck fans are your most fairweather fans in the league. For those who don't know, but they play in the very wealthy Orange County. Lots of money for fairweather fans that can throw down 8300 a season for season tickets. Its all about the bandwaggon here! Fortunately there are fans like this that keep this team here. That way I get to see my Wings play in person a couple times a year!

When I initially saw the hit, I knew it would be 2 minutes. I could see Kronwall just getting in the box and looking up at how much time he was getting or maybe just a replay of it. I was thinking he could have got 4 minutes max for it. I cant imagine the league taking further action, but you never know!

Being that I live in the Ducks TV market, I am listening to their announcers in this game. I am practically doing cart wheels through my living room. I love it! I called in another thread. (Stars in 6)

Just was watching the lottery. Tampa Bay gets 1st choice. Stamkos the most likely pick. Will they be a team to beat in the East again? Being that everyone else posted a thread about the lottery, I think this thread should be: Is Tampa going to be good again? I think they totally bombed this year for this reason alone. I could honestly care less about the on ice logos. I think it's just what goes on in professional sports. I bet if the league didn't do anything, we would complain that the league doesn't market itself better. Look at NFL or MLB, there is always a PLAYOFFS on the field in football, and the ALCS or NLCS or World Series on the ball field. These leagues try and take advantage of the massive amount of TV viewers as well.

I believe that every player has a certain strength/job/duty on the team. I find it hard to compare Drake with others on the team. You can try and compare him with other guys that have similar jobs on the team but I believe he is doing what Babcock is expecting of him. I agree he hasn't had a stellar year. I believe his play was fairly effective prior to that jaw injury against San Jose earlier in the year. Hopefully he steps up during the playoffs. I think that every check, backcheck, hit, pass, scrum, sticking up for a Z or Dats, and anything else he can do to benefit the scoring of a goal or stopping one, he's doing what is asked of him.

I figured Nabokov would be there around the top. I do believe Lundqvist and Price are where they should be. I thought Tomas would get a little more love. But I would say our guys are right around where they should be. Of course Giguerre is going to get all the love, the media kisses his ass all the time.

I know it was said earlier in this thread, but I say Dallas in 6! Goals for Anaheim are very infrequent this year. Hopefully Turco can get his game face on and get on a roll. Calgary over San Jose in 7. I think if Calgary doesn't beat them, they will at least wear them down a little.

I think any team that has Miller on as their goaltender can be totally dangerous. Prime example: Vancouver. My own opinion is that without Luongo, that team is crap. And I know Luongo didn't play up to his abilities this year for whatever reason, but they don't have anyone driving the net and scoring goals. The Sedin twins were absolutely quiet this season. My opinion again, I do not feel he has much of a chance being a Wing. That doesn't mean I wouldn't crack a smile if we obtained him though..

I think there are pros and cons to this idea. Pros: played college hockey in Michigan, good goaltender Cons: trading away our good young talent once again, Osgood just signed a three year deal, and who is to say Hasek is done. It's hard to conjure up a popular vote in this matter. I believe if Buffalo cannot retain him, someone with really deep pockets, and team in dire need of a goaltender will outbid the rest. I say a team like Chicago picks him up.

I say we strike up a trade with TB Lilja/Lebda for Stamkos.. And if they get a little snippy, we can throw in "Sammy the sniper"!

I know there was a thread devoted to todays game, but there was something mentioned by the commentators on NBC today, during one of the intermissions I believe. I don't even remember the analyst. It was more of them trying to create a goalie controversy here in Detroit. And I REALLY do NOT want this thread turned into a Hasek vs Osgood debate. The topic is old and overhyped. This thread is about them saying that if Hasek doesn't get the nod to play and start and pretty much be the guy here he tends to be a locker room problem. I had never heard that before. I know goalies are usually strange with their quirks, but has anyone on here ever heard of Hasek throwing tantrems? Question 2: Who else if anybody seems to act like that, or even past Wings were locker room issues? I think the biggest reason I started this thread, is because I never hear of this going on in Detroit. I was just a little stunned when that analyst spoke about that. Does anyone have any insight about this or comment?

The only thing I had ever heard about issues between Babs and a player was, that Maltby and him did not get along. I had heard that from different sources. Their reliability was questionable at best though. I usually have to see it to believe it.

Question: Does anyone on here think Dallas can handle the Ducks in a series? I know the Stars won the season series, but I still think that Dallas may be a playoff flop here again.

I guess I had been still thinking that San Jose was going to face Anaheim in the first round. Now I am a little bummed. I really wonder if Dallas can handle them in a series. But if Anaheim does win that series, who would they play in the second round? The winner of the SJ/Calgary series? I guess I am just a little confused this early in the morning.
