I was watching the NHL Network a couple of hours ago. I believe it was "NHL on the fly". They ended up running a story on San Jose, about how they have one of the most feared line ups in the league. And that they should go far in the playoffs. But then they also talked about Ron Wilson and the future he has in San Jose, and if they don't either get to the Finals or win the Cup his job may be in danger. And the panel seemed to agree with that, yeah he should be replaced. I know Babcock is not going anywhere, win or lose this year. But I just don't agree with getting rid of a coach that has a top contender every year. I know the ultimate result is a little much to take when your team loses. But there can only be one winner! I understand the frustration from the higher ups in the organization, but is firing the coach what a good team needs. I know it has worked out in the past, and has backfired as well. Whenever I think of this, it reminds me of the Cowboys winning the Super Bowl, and Jerry Jones firing Jimmy Johnson! Being that we are all amateur GM's here, what would you do? Do you believe that in some cases it's a boost for an already good team?

Hey there. I would love to go, but I just started working Saturdays. If it was a Sunday I would be in.

A soar groin seems to be the injury plaguing everyone right now! I was just reading an article about Sundin, and more than likely he will be sitting out the rest of the season. Question 1: Has Sundin played his last game as a Leaf, or is management in Toronto going to try and sign him? Question 2: Is there any interest in Mats abilities/play in Detroit? Do we have a shot at him if so? Sorry to stir up the Sundin, Hossa, and whoever with cap space and all crap. But I would love to have another Swede on the team. Here's the link to the Sundin story: http://bleacherreport.com/articles/15688-N...e_Leafs_-010408

"Inglewood Jack" For those of you who do not live in southern California or anywhere near LA, Inglewood is one of the crappiest most crime ridden places in the LA area. It's right near the airport. So I believe Jules Winnfield did get it right. If you go to Inglewood, you are looking to get jacked. great video. Still waiting for the Dats video..................somebody!

Oh okay. I hadn't previously known that he was wanting one year contracts. The writers of the stories written about him, make it out as if the Leafs have it that way. Kind of like their terms.

I am definetly a fan of Mats, and a fan of loyalty by a professional superstar player in professional sports. But as that article said, "he doesn't owe leafs nation anything. This guy doesn't deserve 1 year contracts. He deserves much more from an organization. I wish he would sign with a team that knows what they have got. But at this point I just hope he stays in the NHL.

I have been a cable subscriber forever. Last year I switched over to Directv and purchased Center Ice. Best thing I ever did. I have caught almost every game available. Versus/versusHD, NHL network/NHL networkHD, and all the FSN's in the country. It's so cool to catch Ken and Mickey every game. Its cool cause I live out west, and can catch all the local Redwings pregame and stuff. I definetly recommend if anyone is thinking about a switch!

From time to time, I bet on the Wings either through the offshore, or I go to Vegas. Last year I won about 80 bucks. It was the playoff series against Calgary. I am not a high roller, but I will throw 40 bucks or so down. I enjoy it. Curious if anyone on here bets like this. I was just checking out the daily odds as well as the Stanley Cup odds. I don't put a whole lot of stock in them, but I find them interesting. Heres a link. http://www.vegasinsider.com/nhl/odds/futures/ For those that don't understand how odds work. 5/1 = 5 to 1 Which is slightly better than 11/2. Tell me what you guys/gals think.

Lets see, where do I begin. This is going to be like fighting a really drunk guy! First of all I kind of like the Canadiens. It's good for the game of hockey when original six teams are decent. But honestly you have absolutely no chance at beating a Western Conference team in the Cup final. That is if you made it that far. I went to the game a couple of weeks ago when Montreal played Anaheim. Montreal got their asses beat. They couldn't even make it through the neutral zone. I have never seen a team dump the puck in and get a line change that many times. Sorry to bust your bubble or that small glimmer of hope you have for your Canadiens. You shouldn't expect Price to carry you all the way either. But you should be a little happy that your second favourite team will be skating around with the Cup this year high above their heads!

I don't ever find myself scared of any one team. I would say they, the Sharks pose of great of a threat as the Ducks or even the Canucks for that matter. I know the Canucks are not as good of a team as us or SJ or Anaheim, but either was Edmonton year before last. And you see what happened there. We can only hope that history repeats themselves for certain teams like SJ and Calgary. And not for us, unless were talkin 97,98, and 02.

If you put money down on Phoenix, for example, you are a complete moron. Exactly
-
Maybe. I clicked it and it worked fine. I have always liked Tom Glavine. I am always curious to have seen what kind of hockey player he would have turned out to be. It's hard to ponder a good career in hockey when comparing to his great baseball career.
-
I agree that they are not as up to date as they could be, but vegas and offshore typically leave their stuff up a little longer. Because mostly there are people who are dumbs***s that think Phoenix still has a shot or Columbus, or whoever is still a borderline team that is a longshot. They are looking for a huge payoff. I have found in Vegas when I am sitting in a sports betting area of a casino, there are people betting on any team and every team. And they dont necessarily follow, say hockey.

I used to enjoy listening to what Pierre had to say, but I guess I just get tired of the backhanded comments towards Detroit. He doesn't seem to be as positive towards Detroit. I mean does anyone look at stats? Goaltending, come on.

You know why mainstream America thinks hockey is dumb or not worthy? NBC ESPN Pierre Mcliar Barry "the mullet" Melrose and so on.........

I think the job that Homer does for the team is very admirable. I think that anyone who can stand in front of a goalie screen him, get chopped at all game in the back of the legs, take a constant beating from all the D-men in the league, not get hit by the pick, and try and tip that thing in is admirable. I think he is having a very frustrating year, health wise and production on his part. Franzen is exactly what this team needed. They needed someone else to take the pressure off of Z and Dats. Cleary does the same. Franzen and Cleary always seem to be forgotten and they slip away from being covered. I think Franzen should stay on the first line once Homer gets back. But I am not Babcock, and wouldn't want the decisions. But whats great about once Homer returns, it just adds that much more confusion for the opposition. I think Babs will drive the opposition nuts with all line switches.

ducks win, stars lose! who cares.
