Im guilty as well. I get worked up when my Wings are losing, and people are bringing all the negatives to the fore front. I will definetly clean up my language. Good post Matt.

I am sure someone on here will be able to help me with this. But when there is a cheap shot on somebody like Filppula late in the 3rd tonight, or the hits that the announcer says "oh I imagine the league will take a good look at this hit." I know the league supposedy looks at all the hits, but I don't seem to hear about them coming to a conclusion in the matter. I know NHL.com will put a little side note on the site, but it doesn't seem to corespond with all the shady cheap shots on a nightly basis. Maybe the league isn't finding that much wrong with most of these hits, and the announcer is just overracting. Does anyone have any insight to this? And on a side note. I like this youtube video, check it out if you want to laugh. Sorry not hockey related.

I am not so much challenging you on here, but why wouldn't a GM want this or some type of system in place?

I think the Winter Classic is bitchen and even more so if the Wings were playin in it. But I do have to agree that, if they have one too often, it takes away from the excitement and prestige. I say once a year at most. I also say it would be better at Soldier Field instead of Wrigley. I think the ultimate would be Wings vs Habs/Leafs in a small town in the middle of Manitoba or Saskatchewan. And have everyone converge on this town like Sturgis. Make it a 4 day event that would start out with kids, moving up to college ranks and then the finale between the Wings vs __________.

Holy s***! Did anyone see that hit on Ryan Smyth from LA Kings Jack Johnson? All I can say was wow! Smyth went down hard and was taken off on a backboard a few minutes ago. I am just as big of a critic of the refs as anyone. The goal against Anaheim waved off, the one off the net the other day, and the numerous crap that is called or not called daily. I started a thread sometime back about needing a buzzer or red bean bag to throw, or the replay system similar to what the NFL uses. We need something, the game is just too fast!

I was just looking at the standings, and if nothing changes to much, this is 1st round match-ups... 1. Detroit vs 8. Colorado 2. Dallas vs 7. Vancouver 3. Minnesota vs 6. Calgary 4. Anaheim vs 5. San Jose This is if nothing changed between now and then. I think a series with Colorado who will have Sakic, Foote, Forskin. versus Detroit who will have McCarty, and the rest of the injured back. It's like de ja vu! There is no way that Colorado can hang in a series with us. I think Dallas can squeek by Vancouver once again. A toss up between Minnesota and Calgary I am not sure if SJ can beat the Anaheim Thugs in a series, but I am fairly certain SJ's big bodies can wear Anaheim down and maybe take a couple of those whining ******* out. Preferrably Pronger and Perry.

I know that there is already a thread concerning the win in Buffalo, but I just wanted to say I was wrong about Kronwall! I have doubted his play in the past. I know he hits, and he can score. And he always seemed fragile in the past cause of all his injuries constantly. But with the loss of Lidstrom, Cheli, and Rafalski his talent really shines through as able to control the game from the point and get the freakin puck to the forwards, as we so desperatly need. Just wanted to say that these last two games have really impressed me. Is anyone else besides themselves tonight after this good showing by him and the team?

Ok I will agree with you on that. There is no other d-man in the history of the game that posesses the skills and durability that Nic Lidstrom has. So anyone playing D, in Detroit will always be in the shadow.

I have to disagree with you! Kronwall has great skills. And you know what he posesses, it's something I see Lidstrom do, he sets up a play so nicely and makes good decisions, he's an intelligent player. Good interview with Drake tonight talking about how Kronwall always seems to find the forward down low making the great pass in to the tightest of spots. And Babs has always talked highly of him as well, and did so, some more tonight.

Flip and a 1st rounder for a 38 year old player? I know Feds just isn't any player especially in the eye of Detroit. But fortunately KH and Babs and the others privy to an opinion in this matter were thinking clearly and decided this wasn't a good deal. In all honesty I am glad we didn't give up much at the deadline. I think the trade deadline we get ourselves in trouble. I prefer to sign the unrestricted free agents. Maybe we can sign Feds, Hossa, or even Sundin in July without giving up draft picks.
