    The reason behind the slump!

No doubt that those first rounders are good. But players like Datsyuk 171st pick, Z 210th, Holmstrom 257th, Lidstrom 53rd, Osgood 54th, of course Yzerman was 4th, and even though Draper wasn't drafted by the wings, he still went 62nd. I think the draft is a little deceptive at times at what your going to get, whether you are a high or low pick. side note in 1989 these players were taken before Lidstrom by Detroit. -Mike Sillinger -Bob Boughner Mats Sundin was the 1st overall awarded to Quebec

    Mr. Meech

I really like Meech. And I think when the team starts to pick it up here and get healed up, he will be one of these guys that we go "holy s***, this kids pretty good." That is if he can stay up, and there is enough room. Is there room for him?

He was asked the normal questions about Stuart. He said he was happy with his play and thought that his physical dimension was what this team is in need of. He was also asked about the injuries and the losing streak, and pretty much defended the GR guys that were up, and that they just aren't getting the bounces, and the ability to win these close ones. Also was asked about Hasek, and defended him that he played good, and pretty much said the D broke down. Was happy with Kronwall. I think that is most of it. I hoped that helped you.

I have to agree with you. This thread was started on pure bitter opinion, and should have died before it started.

I was thinking the same thing. I like his style. Babcock had good things to say about his element of play, and he liked it. Finally.

    our injured!

Red Wings Injury Report (Updated on February 20, 2008) D Nicklas Lidstrom will be out at least three weeks after what first reports indicate is a sprained MCL. He was injured on Feb. 18 at Colorado. D Brian Rafalski was placed in injured reserve Feb. 14 after a groin injury sustained on Feb. 12 at Nashville. G Dominik Hasek was placed in injured reserve Feb 20. He is out with a groin injury. RW Dan Cleary is out indefinately with a fractured jaw after he was struck by a puck in the first period against Toronto on Feb. 9. D Niklas Kronwall was placed on injured reserve on Feb. 11, retroactive to Jan. 30 when he injuring his clavicle in the third period against Phoenix. Does anyone have anything notable to contribute towards dates of returns? Lidstrom? 3 weeks right? Rafalski? He was reported earlier this week Friday at Calgary. I am guessing this isn't true anymore. Hasek? D2D? Dan Cleary? I have been told on here, he should return by April or the playoffs. I have also heard the injury is worse than initially reported. Kronwall? I have no idea. I heard he was hoping for Friday as well. Part 2.... Will our injuries have any impact on what we do come the trade deadline? I am not trying to start a new deadline thread, just curious.

I am growing fairly pissed off at all of these people who want to trash this team. Your suposed to support your team when its good and bad. Use a different forum. Good bye!

Hossa Sweepstakes down to four teams?

Does anyone on here believe that if Anaheim gets Jokinen or Hossa, and we dont do much else, will we be f***ed for the playoffs? Or do you think we can compete saying were healthy and all?
  25. I have been looking around the internet and reading little things here and there about players numbers. With this deadline coming up, do players consider this when signing on a team? Does a player have a right to demand this? Is there a respect factor? Is it a "well I am Marion Hossa and I make X amount of millions a year, and you Mr.Maltby do not, I want 18 or I will not sign with you" Sundin wears 13, so does Datsyuk. Hossa wears 18, so does Maltby. Rob Blake wears 4, so does Quincey. Sergei Fedorov wears 91, no current wing wears 91. Brad Stuart wears 6, no current wing wears 6. Bryan McCabe wears 24, and of course Cheli wears 24. I am sure there are more that I didn't throw in. I know in the past players have given their numbers up for another player. Franzen gave his 39 to Hasek, and agreed to 93. and of course 1,7,9,10,12, and definetly 19 are off limits. What do you guys think?
