2012 NHL Trade Deadline Thread - February 27th, 3:00 PM ET
miller76 replied to NeverForgetMac25's topic in General
I have been on twitter for an embarrassing amount of time today. I have posted a lot today, but I have read even more about Nash. The consensus is he will not be traded til summer, due to Howson's demands. Just too steep for some clubs. I can't blame the NYR for not blowing up the team to acquire him. They are already a good team. But Nashville has popped up on numerous tweets today of opinions of these columnists and bloggers, and insiders. Also there were tweets and retweets earlier, saying that Dallas is asking for the farm for Ott. Not necessarily going to trade him, but is entertaining offers. And that the Canucks are ready to overpay for him. -

These sellers across the board are asking for the farm! Guastad for a 1st rounder? Laughable and ridiculous. I wonder what the price for a guy like Pominville would be. -
Rough game for the Sharks. They started of good, up 2-0 within the first 3 minutes of the game. Then, they blow the lead, McLellan takes a stick to the face, and goes down. Then Couture takes 3 pretty hard hits and ends up leaving with a lower body injury, and then they end up losing the game. Anyone else feel bad for the Sharks? Yeah, me neither.

What a touching story. I couldn't imagine the emotional stress that is upon the families of these victims. Beyond the faces we knew, and knew somewhat well, there were a lot of good young hockey players lost that day. A lot of families out there suffering emotionally, and I hate to bring it up, but financially as well. These were players we watched at juniors in Buffalo not long ago. Just a sad, sad story from every angle. Thoughts and prayers to all who are affected and suffer daily from this tragedy.

There was some talk earlier on Twitter about Grabvoski, that I can't find now. The tweeter I think speculated SJ was in the lead. I am not so sure about it, but I do know Garth Snow hasn't traded a roster player away at the deadline in 5 years. -
haha loved that!

Who Could be Dealt at the Deadline?
miller76 replied to Bring Back The Bruise Bros's topic in General
It seems like old news now, but haven't we heard Holland and Babcock, saying that roster players being moved at the deadline is unlikely. Which if any moves are made, wouldn't it involve picks and prospects? -

I am thinking Robert Lang! Is he still lazy and suck? How upset would you be if Lang, Sammy, andy Lebda were all reacquired Monday? I know Hollands house would be getting egged on Tuesday!

Has anyone heard anything lately about Iginla? His name doesn't seem to come up so much, now that Nash has taken center stage. Not saying the Wings should trade for him, for fear of who would go to Calgary. But it would be neat to see a right handed shot like his on a line with Datsyuk.

I am curious with all the space available, to see what Holland will do. It's been some time since there is more than just a little wiggle room at this time of year.

There was a funny tweet, saying Ballards injury is an 'upper salary' . Wont return before the playoffs, but will be ready for the playoffs. And of course no Cap in the playoffs. Pretty sly there in Vancouver. -

McKenzie just tweeted that Vancouver has just put Ballard on LTIR, clearing 4.2 million in cap space. Then he referenced OTT in caps. I sure hope this has no legitimacy. I would hate to see Ott go to Vancouver. Here was the tweet: Bob McKenzie @TSNBobMcKenzie Reply Retweet Favorite · Open VAN put Keith Ballard on LTIR, Creates $4.2M worth of cap space. Quincey is plenty for reunion week in Detroit this season. I don't hate Sammy, I just don't want him back. Sorry.

Kings better do something more than Carter. They need another goal scorer. This week listening to xm and their guests, there has been a lot of talk of Nash being a logical fit in LA. And if the Kings don't make the playoffs, Lombardi is out!

I really like Bertuzzi, and the element he brings to the team. I am glad Holland sees him, as an asset, instead of this old relic he keeps around. And just a quick story from the last game I went to. During the game when the Wings were here playing the Coyotes last time, there was this guy, (a Red Wings fan), about five rows up from where I was sitting. Nearly every time Bert was on the ice, he would yell out, "come on Bert, end somebodies career tonight!" I know I shouldn't have laughed, but I chuckled a little bit, and shook my head. The name Bertuzzi is just flat out infamous! This team takes a lot of s***, about being so called soft, but I like the infamous Bertuzzi name on this team.
