i know Steve Ott has a particular job in this game, and he does it well. Does Detroit need a player that does that particular job? I am not sure. But excuse me while I throw up in my mouth, as I watch the beautiful, radiant red jersey, with the winged wheel perfectly sewn on the front, and the name OTT on the back! :puke: haha, could you imagine?

Sharks May overcome your streak. Otherwise it would be a great game.

I enjoy that fans of other teams, feel the need to come over to an opposing team, fan site and post rubbish. The anxiety and pressure these fans have when their teams have to play Detroit. I love it. And also, Vancouver, SJ, and Philly fans, seem to be on this "were so high and mighty trip' for a few seasons now, 'cause we win more then we lose'. So they act stunned or something when their team loses or are nicely beaten by such a 'soft Euro' team like Detroit! -

I watch bits and pieces of an intermission show. But it's a chance to get up and do a few things. pay full pop for a Dallas Stars, Steve Ott jersey, and wear it everywhere for a month or pay full pop for a SJ Sharks, Joe Thornton jersey, and wear it everywhere for a month * I know I am mean

I have checked out some domain names before on there, while having a business idea. I always say I am going to go 'see more', after I see a commercial, but I never have. The person below has been watching hockey all day, starting with the Wings this morning.

If this was anywhere else besides a town like Philly, I would be surprised! But the teams, fans, and sportswriters of that town have a horrendous track record. I mean how many sports writers around consistently blog or write an article in how Detroits success is a sham.

I don't think he is a Detroit Red Wing hater by any means, but as for someone who lives in the area, he is huge here. I believe he still has his radio show out here, and if not, he does a lot of guest spots on a popular rock station. He does have a suite at Jobing.om arena, and is there at games frequently. He comes across to me, as a big supporter of the community as a whole. His biggest love though by far is golf. He is always playing in tournaments out here, and does a lot of charity type of work with the game of golf.

I honestly don't believe, that most nhl fans hate the Red Wings. I think opposing fans are enamored with the unrealistic, and unbelievable success the organization has achieved, like no other in recent decades. In my opinion the majority of fans have no other recolection of a dynasty such as the one that is still in Detroit. I think opposing fans are baffled at Detroits ability to draft above and beyond consistently for more than a lucky pick every once in a while. I think us as true fans are equally in awe of the players that are in the system. But what I find the most amusing, is that there are some great cities that nhl hockey teams call home. For instance, I love the city of Vancouver, it's beautiful. Calgary is also a fun town to travel too. Chicago and NYC are a few of my favorites, LA has great weather, and Anaheim is so convenient for a player that has a few bucks and could live at the beach in a nice home, and make a morning skate in 15 minutes with traffic. It has to be angering for fans of these other teams that not only love their team, but they like where they live. And then watch a player snub them, for a a blue collar, down on their luck, depressed area like Detroit, or so how it is grossly portrayed. And to top it all off, the player takes less money! If I am an opposing teams fan, and I have to hear 'Detroits hometown discount' one more time, I am going to throw up in my mouth! (thats a quote from my Red Wing hating, and Anaheim Duck season ticket holder old neighbor) haha, I loved living next to this guy!! People hated Steinbrenner, and Al Davis, because they were over the top control freaks. edit: I highly doubt that a normal, legit nhl fan find Ilitch anything other than a great owner.

head shot never even came up. The issue is he launched himself, which is against the rules, plus he has history. Kronwall delivered a nice hit last night, and never left his feet. He never launched himself into the player, he stood him up. The game needs more hits like this, and less players retaliating for quality checks.

Shanny explained in great detail the reasoning. The comparison with the line, and height difference between the two players, and the obvious launching of himself. I doubt he would have gotten anything other than a 2500 dollar slap, but history caught up to him on this one. Shanny

I posted this thread, due to a lot of talk about Sutton being available , and the interest here on lgw with this guy. I like his toughness, though at times a little bit of a liability in his own zone.

Well I am sorry you are lost. What is it you don't understand? I merely sated that Yzerman was my pick. Follow me so far? Great. Next I implied a reason for my pick saying that players like McCarty and Draper helped solidify his great position at being an outstanding leader that they built around him with good solid players to play with. I promise i will never ******* use the words McCarty and Draper and Lidstrom in the same sentence, paragraph or breath ever again! My god are we that super sensitive around here, hanging on every post and how it is completely worded? My god it's the internet. -

I thought i made it clear on my post, that Yzerman was my pick. I was merely throwing in great names that helped make the Yzerman era that much greater. That guys like Draper and McCarty were built around Yzerman. Sorry I lost you. -
Nope. i am off of work today. Plus I am sick, so I have no guilt in riding the couch surfing lgw today The person below me has really come along way in the working world the past few years, and is proud of their self!

Haha love it. Got to love that fourth line, and DiPietro in goal

Great game for Zetterberg tonight. We need to show him so love on here! He totally set that Franzen goal up, with that great pass to Lidstrom, that drew Coburn from Franzen in front of the net. Great goal, great play!

That's a tough one. We as Detroit fans are lucky to be contemplating who, the greatest was. I think this is an endless argument with possibilities of Howe, Lindsay, Abel, and Sawchuk that paid the price early on, and built a history. Then a kid named Yzerman that in a sense resurrected this organization single handedly in the 80's. I think my pick would have to be Yzerman for my 1a. He was the cornerstone building block for the modern era Detroit teams. Let me edit this. I have seemed to hurt many feelings here today: -
anyone remember 2006? Me too...
