    Joey Mac

I would have no issues with Joey Mac being the back up the rest of the way, with one stipulation. Either stay late after practice playing pucks around the net, or just vow to let the d-men handle those duties.

    Tomas Tatar

I was thinking the same thing. I enjoy getting an inside scoop on the log jam.

    Joe Thornton... class act

Frustration is inevitable when you are getting your ass kicked. That exchange between Sj and Det was a 6-1 game, you got to expect some chipiness at some point. This is how soft the game has become. There is a thread in a hockey forum about this little exchange. This was every game with nearly every team before pansies starting running the league!

I seem to be in the same predicament!

    Yzerman Lightning Jersey

This thread reminded me of something that has always kind of bothered me too. Going into Jobing.com arena in Glendale, and of course their rafters are nothing but lights and speakers! In Coyote colors there is banner that hangs in the arena, that says GRETZKY 99. I know obviously his ties as an owner, coach, and obscene paychecks from the organization, but to have a banner hanging like you actually scored goals, won divisions, Cups, and so on is stupid. And it's been up there since day one.

    Jeff Carter

I don't know that I have a reason to dislike the guy. But I do believe where there is smoke, there is fire. There was a lot of talk about issues in the Philadelphia dressing room with this guy, and Richards. Detroit doesn't need someone rocking the boat in the room. Plus the contract, is a lot to seriously consider. Personally I would pass. I like what we have. I think the pieces this team needs are smaller in nature then a large signing like Carter.

    What to do about goaltending

two words, Manny Legace! haha j/k Seriously, we need to hang on to what we got, wait for Howard to recover, and see what happens. Not saying Holland doesn't need to be on the phone feeling out other options though.

    Craig Baugh

This is really a nice story. My oldest son, who is 15 and is high functioning autistic, is wanting to work so much. He wants a job badly. It's stories like this, that keep all of our heads up! Were not as limited as sometimes we believe we are.

Who Could be Dealt at the Deadline?

I can't see KH trading away a roster player, other than Conklin or Kindl. I think with the amount of Cap room , 15m+, we will see picks, and prospects traded away. I cringe at trading Hudler, Flip, and Cleary. They have good playoff experience.

Who Could be Dealt at the Deadline?

I would make multiple trades! I would trade away multiple posters here on lgw, that have no sense of reality! Emmerton for Parise right? Got to be an E4 by now!

    2/6 GDT : Red Wings 1 at Coyotes 3

Getting ready to head out to Westgate soon for the game. We need a good solid start, and a solid 60 minutes, no overtime BS. Wearing my black Cleary practice jersey tonight. We never lose when I wear it.

How open would you be to trading Hank?

We got the best effen team on the ice, the envy of the league of a organization off the ice, and some aren't happy! Trading away Z would be ridiculous! You want to be unhappy? Be my buddy who is a season ticket holder for the Ducks!

Who Could be Dealt at the Deadline?

This team is good. I am not excited about screwing it all up. Trading away dependable, inexpensive 4th liners for a locker room cancer like Jeff Carter; no thanks. No team is going to do Detroit any favors as usual, why would they? I think if a good plugger, thats got a tough side, gets dealt late in the day at the deadline, I think it's a positive thing. I know the majority on here want to make a huge splash with a big name, but those names that are available don't win playoff series. Your third and fourth liners grit is typically the determining factor in playoff wins! We all should be happy, we don't need much.

Howard has broken finger, Joey Mac recalled

Damnit! I was hoping to see him play Monday in Phoenix.

    Sam Gagner

I always liked Sam Gagner. He takes a lot of s*** up there from that Edmonton media. And then being a target of trade rumors regularly. I say good for him! I hope he gets moved to a competitive team, where he can showcase his skills!

    Dreger's mailbag

Morrow would have to give his ' a-okay' with any move, being he has a ntc!

1/19 GDT : Red Wings 3 at Coyotes 2 (SO)

Just got home from the game. What a sick move by Bertuzzi. Pavel is amazing in person, as was Howard! Great game. The arena was near full, due to the obscene amount of Wings fan.

    Lidstrom on NHL 36!

I can't wait. The one recently on Patrick Kane was interesting. But following Nick will be awesome!

Brad Stuart to the West Coast?

Back at the deadline in 2008, when the team acquired Stuart, I was one on here complaining about him being on the team. I could just see from his body language, that he didn't seem to excited about being in Detroit. The after party photos of the Cup celebrations that showed him, he was often by himself, and wasn't jumping around laughing/drunk and so on. I wasn't happy when the team signed him more long term. But during the following season, I picked up on his more quiet natured personality. He is kind of a hard guy to read. But he has won that Cup, been on successful teams, and has gotten paid handsomely now for a few good contracts. Keep socking away that money Stuey! I am not mad at you. I just hope we can get something in return. Tell you what Dan Boyle for Stuey and Erricson right now! Come on....
