Are you content with Z and Franzen?

I totally agree. I think Hossa was a side show all season, and a distraction to the team in the Finals. It was like Hossa vs his old team, and his inability to score and say "I was right in my decision in coming here." I am in no way blaming him for the loss, but I felt he was not a contributing factor.

Where do the Red Wings go now?

Just remember the Cup was won without Hossa and Conklin. Kopecky was a non factor due to injury. This team is still very much intact and the envy of most other teams in the league. And if they can't re-sign Hudler or Samuelsson, I am sure Holland is competent enough to make a good decision on plugging in other players to those open spots.
  3. I have no problems with this decision. I have nothing personal against either player, but it's time to shore up any loose ends, and save money where they can. I want the best players playing on the ice night in and night out. And sorry to say but Kopecky, Downey, and Mac were not it.

    Wings to trade one defenseman

True. But imo, Stuart would be the most likely player with a NTC to waive it. I think if the right team stepped up with a deal, he would take it. Since the day he was brought in, I always thought his stay would be brief.

    Wings to trade one defenseman

Well Holland is obviously talking about getting rid of Lidstrom here! But in all seriousness, it doesn't make a whole lot of sense to trade away Lebda or Meech, unless KH is really thinking that they are going to be so very close to the Cap. This type of statement by KH may be an indication of deals or signings already in place that we are unaware of at this time. I am sure all this trading a D man after camp will be making more sense in the coming days with all the drama to unfold.

^^^^^^^^^^^^I knew this was going to happen.

    Pens re-sign Bill Guerin

Shero is no dummy. They finally got someone to play with the kid. Good for them.

    Wings won't bring Conklin back

I think that Conklin and the Wings greatly benefited equally. He brought a little consistency and true to form back-up to a struggling Osgood. He wasn't a locker room cancer, and he was always a professional. And because of him doing his job, he will be rewarded now. He is going to go somewhere and sign a deal that will give him some more security in his life. Good for him, and your welcome back anytime, when the situation is right.

I think you hit the nail right on the head!

Holland "Not Optimistic" about re-signing Hossa

Eklund said Hossa is signing in Detroit for a long deal around 5.5 million per year! Hey if Ek said it, I am onboard.

It's not going to. You forgot Manny Legace.

    How about Alexei Kovalev?

I would rather have Lang on the team. Kovalev is a joke.

I can't believe Bob Gainey didn't make the list!

    2010 Olympics

Yeah it was like the whole month of February I believe. I honestly hate the idea of shutting down a business like the nhl in the middle of the season.

    Howard to backup next year

The same Joey MacDonald that shut the Wings out this season on the Island?

    Howard to backup next year

I am curious to see why Jim Nill went out and made public about Jimmy Howard being the back-up. From everything that I heard and read in this past year, this decision to play him or trade him would stem from his performance this training camp. Last year he had a mediocre training camp. His call up this year was a disaster against Minnesota if I remember right. I wonder if the team feels that they are out of options with him due to other circumstances. Maybe they have retained the likes of Hossa and company, and now are dangerously close the Cap. I am sure we will know more by next week. Conklin I am guessing will be a starter somewhere else for just under a couple million. I am sorry to see him go, actually, if this is the case.

    Chelios Press Conference

I don't think he is trying to prove a point or anything selfish. From what I have heard from a friend of mine out here in California, that is a friend of the Chelios family, is that he is holding on for the possible chance of playing with his son Dean. It wouldn't surprise me if he did become a King though. Convenience for sure, being he has a place on the beach in Malibu.

Worst NHL Team Names, Logos, or Colors?

My faves are: Detroit of course. (just love the design and history of it) Montreal, and Toronto. I like the Chicago logo, but their white jersies are god awful. Their reds are badass though. Least faves: Atlanta, Anaheim, Colorado, Dallas, Florida, and Nashville.

I took this with my little point and shoot camera, just prior to the start of game 1. Thought it was cool and I would share.

Draper ticked that Crosby snubbed Lidstrom

And I am saying multiple times. I like how you rationalize that 'talking to the refs about previous calls is the captains job.' No s***! Really? I had no idea. How about the captain setting an example, by shutting his mouth and letting his play speak. Oh yeah that's right, he was pretty much a no show this series.

Draper ticked that Crosby snubbed Lidstrom

I was actually at games 1 and 2. During tv timeouts he is typically parked near a linesman or referree. What do you think they are talking about? Your posts are a disgrace to your username.

Draper ticked that Crosby snubbed Lidstrom

Hey but at least we get to see all the nhl commercials all season about the Finals between the Pens and the Wings. And make it look like the Wings actually won and all...oh wait.. thats right, were not the little darlings of the league. Crosby is the one with his game on his stick!
