Well your first mistake here, is that you can take something like what he wrote seriously. He made fun of a couple of your precious players names. Crying me an effen river, would ya! Secondly there captain obvious, how in the world did you ever find out that Detroits PK sucked? Digging in the stats of nhl.com or just pick up a paper somewhere? Thats obvious new information around here. BTW Ozzie is also struggling this year. Thirdly (if thats even a word), There is no doubt in my mind that Dan Boyle is a hell of a D-man. And your team would be absolutely screwed if they lost him. But for your information most teams if not all, are pretty much screwed if they lose their number one D-man. And lastly. I think it would be great if the Sharks found away to overcome their playoff disappointment and capture the Stanley Cup. As a fan of the Red Wings for 26 years now, Steve Yzerman hoisting the Cup in 1997 was an emotional thing for me, as was 98. Especially after the brutal years I endured as a true fan of this team. Every hockey fan that loves their team should have the chance to experience that. It's just a shame that they the (Sharks) couldn't achieve that in all their chances year after year, without reaching out to the dark-side in the off-season and getting a coach that brought along Red Wing values, ideology, and class.

Minnesota is going to be on the fence again this year. Depending on what there chances of going deep into the playoffs, they may deal Backstrom and get something for him at the deadline. Instead of taking the chance of losing him to free agency at the end of the season. Minnesota's braintrust isn't exactly stellar. They have a bad track record when it comes to letting players go for nothing. For example, Demitra and Rolston had little to no return. Gaborik will likely follow suit. Doug Risebrough is probably the worst GM in the league. I bet if Detroit dangled someone like Franzen out in front of them, they may jump on it. Minnesota is dying for somebody to start shooting the puck there. And as for Craig Anderson, who's to accurately say what the future of Florida is. I dont believe even Florida knows that. Anderson is real good trade bait. Plus Florida isn't going to pay another goaltender when they got Vokoun signed for 5.7 next season and 6.3 the following season. My guess is they deal Anderson for a forward.

Come on now. All three of those goalies are horrible. There are only two on the list I could get excited about. 1. Backstrom 2. Craig Anderson

Welcome to the Sharks forum? Ha! Thats a laugh. Your joking right? I actually have a login over there. I have never been so unwelcomed somewhere online in my life. I have never talked to so many uninformed homers that couldn't explain the difference between offsides and icing. And don't bother to ever attempt to talk about the Collective Bargaining Agreement there. I think they believe it has something to do with NAFTA or whatever! So I make a post that isn't total praise for a 4th liner there, and I get labeled as a troll for not sucking on the nuts of a team that has never proven anything in the playoffs, except that they run out of gas prior to getting to the desired destination.

Well I am hardly terrified of the Sharks or any other team around the league. I started this thread lastnight from pure boredom of there only being ONE game in the league going on. Figuired people were watching and may want to talk about it. God forbid we talk about hockey in a hockey forum! What is the world coming to?

Something like this is so hard to predict. I mean a lot of these standout productive players could have career ending injuries or ailments. Where would that put them then in hockey history? I could only predict: 1. AO 2. Malkin 3. Mike Green 4. Phaneuf 5. Kopitar 6. Stamkos 7. Toews 8. Kane 9. Crosby 10. Shea Weber

Yeah, I think they could all use a little more hockey sense. And I know Kronwall and Stuart have pretty much stunk up the place earlier in the season. I am just trying to be positive and possibly 'will' them into being a productive pair of pylons that will stop getting scored on. Other than Lidstrom with "that ever present stick" and his goal scoring as of late, Lilja has been far better than other D-men on this team. The credit he receives on this board for what he goes through nightly is beyond me. I have a whole new respect for players who sacrifice their body on a blocked shot, like him!

That may all be true, about being on the ice when all these goals are allowed. But stats and prior play aside. I believe playoff time this pairing can be good, and effective. And we all know a good hit can turn the momentum of a game. And in the playoffs, experience really pays off. And they both have that.

The toolbags on versus seem to think that they will look at Lalime for a game or two. If they dont see stellar performance they would likely trade for a goalie at the deadline. And the liklihood of them landing Fernandez is not likely, due to being in the same division as Boston. I am thinking Lehtonen or Tellqvist.

Its all over. 1-0 sharks. what an exciting night for hockey! :flush:

Can we call them the San Jose Crossdressers? I always preferred calling them the San Jose Shower-Sharks
-
Sharks strike first with 12 minutes left in the 3rd. Even strength. Setohoochi got it.

Epic fail is a little harsh! I think they are great together when all is clicking. They were great together last spring. And now this season Kronwall has recently turned it up and Stui is coming back. Maybe Kronner and Stui can lay a decent hit on you, and knock some hockey sense into you!

It's too bad the Wings don't play tomorrow night. We all remember what happened last time SJ played prior to coming to the Joe.
-
Good valid point. I just effen hate the damn Stars. I don't know if it was from the WCF from last season or what. The Stars aren't looking half bad tonight though. They are spending a lot of time in the SJ zone. No score there yet.
-
This is the kind of game you wished neither team can get a point or two tonight.

I wonder if they are thinking like Anaheim is. NHL home ice on xm this morning was reporting, that Anaheim is not expecting a long run into the postseason, if they even make it. He said they were willing to listen to any team about a trade, bringing youth and speed to the team for Pronger or even Scott Niedermayer.
-
I wonder if they will be a buyer at the deadline now to keep the possibilities alive for the postseason. I am curious to see if they decide to unload Teppo Numminen and Maxim Afinogenov here at the deadline.

I have never been fond of the league starting the season off over seas, but I don't think it has any ramifications of how the season will go for that club. I believe they gave all four of those teams that went over there the beginning of this season a good week off to reaclimate themselves to the time change and so on. I think it will be cool though for the Swedes on the team to play in front of their home country and extended family that still lives there. Out of all the coaches, I think Babs has the least to worry about, when it comes down to keeping his job.

Is it time to make some major moves for this year's playoff run?

Franzen for Minnesota goalie Backstrom. (I can dream can't I?) -
The coach is always the fall guy. What the owners should be doing is firing all of these worthless gm's. Example: NYR, Minnesota, Vancouver, TB, ATL, and Stl.
-
Redden was good in Ottawa. But he is absolutely horrible in NY.
-
of course he is. he has been rumoured for every vacancy since he was let go. maybe he is ready to get back behind the bench though.
-
http://weblogs.newsday.com/sports/hockey/r...nney_fired.html I have found this link on the firing.

Atleast Conks is starting against the Sharks. I think the team may have a better chance to win with him out there.
