I like Kopecky. Look around the league at fourth liners, and tell me what you see. I see crap! He is obviously a bigger contribution in Babcocks and Hollands eyes then some of us on here believe he is. And it's not like the Wings haven't seen what Helm, Abdelkader, and Leino can do, and what kind of development they still need. Obviosly the Wings want to put the best players on the ice that are available, to give them the best opportunity to win and to go deep into the playoffs.

I guess it would be what type of fan you are. I could never take on another team. Even when Anaheim showed up a little over 15 years ago. I could have easily jumped on the bandwagon. And out here, you are either a Duck fan or a King fan. There is no inter-mingling between the two.

Hockey is not returning to Canada! Unless it's in the Toronto area or southern Ontario, thats it! The TV revenue is where the majority of all this stems from. All of the cities in Canada that have a fairly decent TV market are already taken. Winnipeg, Halifax, Regina, Quebec City cannot support an NHL franchise without dumping countless millions into a sinking hole. The only reasons Phoenix, Nashville, Atlanta, and south Florida have teams is because of they are strong TV markets in general. Not hockey markets, but TV markets. Where there is lots of advertising and the ability for a marginal team to use it as a crutch. I am not saying these franchises are not losing millions, mostly in part due to poor attendance, management, and the inability to make the playoffs. A main issue in Phoenix is because the owners of that team sold their soul to the devil to get out of Winnipeg. The TV market in Phx, is so much more then in Winnipeg. The owners got so excited and signed a 50 something year lease, agreed to let the city of Phoenix build them an arena that is city owned. And now the city has a stranglehold with ridiculous percentages of almost all revenue that the team makes. Parking is free, because it's city owned. The Coyotes cannot charge for parking, because it's legally not their property. So basically they signed a very bad deal, and now they are screwed!

A change of scenary will do Manny good. I hope he does get picked up by the NYI.

Bottom line, something has to give. I think if they need to send him down for a couple of games and bring up a goalie from GR, that would maybe send a message. I do think Conks needs more starts while Ozzie finds himself! I just hope this goalie crap doesn't screw up available funds to sign Hossa, Franzen, or Hudler. I wonder if Holland is eyeing another goalie around the league. Craig Anderson please!

Yeah we all know Ozzie's numbers suck, but it could be worse. The Ducks have Giguere who has been more of a back up as of late. He is sucking too, but sucking for a whopping 6 million this season, and 7 million next season!

They were talking about Schneider just this morning on xm. They said he is for sure going to be moved at the deadline. But there will be few takers for him and his salary. Montreal keeps coming up has final resting place! I guess we will see. Really can't see him returning to Detroit with that type of salary.

Growing up as a child here in southern Cal, Gretzky was a main reason I started watching hockey. But he is just a frustrated angry person behind the bench.
