For game 6, the Wings need a take no prisoner's attitude. They need to get their confidence back and fiinish the series.
-
It is really disappointing to be in the position that the team is in right now. This series should be over, but instead the Wings have given Dallas life, and now Dallas has all of the momentum and believes that they can repeat history and make a comeback. The Wings need to get the passion and drive back and start beliving that they are the number one team again. If this series goes to a game seven, I fear the outcome.

Why the Wings are going to lose the series to Dallas...
LidsFan replied to stud_defenseman's topic in General
I sure hope that the Wings win the next game because I am not sure that my heart and nerves can take a game 6, or heaven forbid a game 7. Plus I am tired of having to watch Ott, and Turco play dirty. -
Rafalski and Lidstrom play great together, so I am glad that he chose to come to Detroit. How special it will be if he can win the Cup in his home state.
-
I want to see Stuart and Kronwall playing together for years to come, so I hope that everything works out. Stuart and Kronwall have great chemistry, just like Lidstrom and Rafalski do, and you don't mess with chemistry, so Stuart has to stay.
-
I am hoping for wings in 5, I don't want it to go to a game 7 because this might make the team a little tired for the final against the East.

Happy Birthday to a Great Captain.

I would be shocked if Nick did not get the Norris Trophy, no one else can compare to him. I hope that Nick wins the Norris every year until he retires.
-
I really like Stuart and I hope that he decides to stay in Detroit. He and Kronwall have great chemistry and I would like to see them playing together for years to come. As Stuarts finger heals I think that he will continue to play better and be a force in the playoffs.
-
I think that our Defense needs to be a little more physical with Nashville. We can't just leave it up to Stuart and Kronwall. Lilja is a big man, he should use his size more. And Lidstrom is not small, he is 6'1. I know that he is about stick handling and I don't expect him to be making big hits, but I would love to see him push and shove a little more. Rafalski only gets physical if he gets angry, which isn't often. I am not trying to be mean, because I really do like our D.
-
I hope that Downey will get some ice time before the series with Nashville is over. I am already tired of TooToo taking runs at people and I think that Downey is better at dealing with TooToo and his antics than McCarty is.
-
I am excited to see Stuart and Kronwall playing together again, they have great chemistry.
-
I think that Kronwall has been playing great and He and Stuart have good chemistry, so I don't worry when they are on the ice, unlike the way I feel when I see Lebda and Lilja playing. Not to be mean to Lebda and Lilja, but when they are on the ice I always worry that the other team is going to score a goal. I hope that Stuart gets back soon, so that I can see him and Kronwall back together on D.

I was speaking of athletes in general, not Avery. But speaking of Avery, what I don't understand is why he would pay for a hooker instead of going out with someone who actually likes him for who he is.
-
Just because some athletes cheat, does not make it right. If a player has a wife and children at home who are waiting for him to return and giving him their support and he is off seeing other women, what does that say about him as a person? I could not cheer for a player like that.
-
I hope that the players are faithful to their wives. If someone cannot be true to one person, then they shouldnot be getting married. Marriage is a sacred bond, and the sad thing is that some people see cheating on your spouse as no big deal.
-
I'm all for Mac coming back, but not if it means that Downey will not get to play. I love Downey, he sticks up for the team, and when he is on the ice he gives his all. So I hope that both can get ice time, if not I have to choose Downey over Mac.

Wings GM says Chris Chelios likely to be back next year
LidsFan replied to zombiewing's topic in General
I love Cheli and I want him to still be a part of the team. He brings experience and leadership, and is a good example for younger players. So I want Cheli to be a Red Wing until he decides that it is time to retire. -
No matter if the Red Wings win the cup or not, I think that Lidstrom's number will be retired quickly, because he has been with the team for so long and is the best defenseman that the Wings have ever had. He is a great Captain and is well respected so I don't see why they would wait to retire #5. But since I can not imagine Lidstrom not leading the D and setting an example for the others to follow, I will just pretend that the day of his retirement will never come.
-
I am beginning to believe that the Red Wings are cursed. Why is it that our best players keep going down? I really like Stuart, so I hope that he is a quick healer like Nick was, because we are going to need him in the playoffs.

It was great to see the San Jose players be just as concerned for Foster as the Wild players were. I also liked how the San Jose trainer went straight over to Foster to offer help, when he saw that he was hurt. I felt bad for Mitchell, you could see that he was upset and that he did not intentionally try and hurt Foster, Mitchell looked like he was going to cry. I hope that Foster is going to be O.K.

I am so excited that Dan Cleary is going to be a Red Wing for a long time. He is such a hard worker, I just love him. I can't wait until he is back in the line-up.

1. Nick Lidstrom 2. Adam Graves 3. Slava Kozlov 4. Vladimir Konstantinov 5. Pavel Datsyuk

After the disaster that was February, I think that winning the Presidents Trophy would be a nice boost towards the playoffs. Not that the team needs it to win the Stanley Cup, but it would be nice.
-
I hope that Stuart decides to stay in Detroit. I think that he fits in perfectly with the Red Wings style of play, and he could really thrive here. I hope that he is tired of going from team to team and wants a home where he can stay for a while. He is on the best team in the NHL, what more could he ask for? His family should understand what an opportunity this is for him. I really like him, so I am holding out hope that everything will work out.
