What an awful start to the game. The Wings do realize that they have to show up and compete to win the game don't they?

that was painful to watch, and thankfully it is over.It is frustrating that everything went wrong and nothing clicked tonight. But it is just one game and the Wings can put this behind them and move on to the next one.

This is embarrassing. They need to have a mercy rule to put teams out of their misery. What is so frustrating is that the Wings started the game off so well, I thought they were going dominate, instead we have this train wreck.

I don't believe this, nothing is going right tonight.

Eaves works hard and does his job on the ice and instead of getting rewarded with more ice time he gets to sit out the game? I am sorry but that is not fair, Hudler should be the one sitting.

I want the Miller,Helm,Eaves line reunited. Eaves and Miller should be rewarded for their hard work and hustle not punished by having to rotate in and out of the line up.

Eaves and Miller should not have to rotate, Hudler should be the one sitting out games. Eaves and Miller should be rewarded for their hard work and hustle and be allowed to play. I want the 4th line of Eaves, Helm, and Miller reunited.

What I don't like about this whole situation is that Eaves and Miller are the ones getting punished for working hard and doing there job out there on the ice. I really liked the fourth line of Helm, Eaves, and Miller. I know that they want to get Hudler going, but I think that he should have to earn his ice time and not just have it handed to him. I am sure that he is trying, but if other players are playing better than him , then he should be the one to sit.

I agree that we have to keep Eaves as a Red Wing. He is such a hard worker and the joy and excitement he has when he scores is so adorable. No one in the NHL has a cuter smile!

Thankfully it is finally over. I feel bad for Modano, I am sure he envisioned his home coming a lot different then how it went. I can't imagine how it would feel to go back to Dallas and be embarrassed in front of your former team.

Of course they make the one Shark that I don't like their captain. I think that Boyle would of been a better choice.

The fact that the Wings would even consider waiving Eaves makes me worried. Eaves is young and he is a hard worker. He is good on the PK and can score goals.Plus he has a great smile and he gets so excited when one of his teammates scores a goal. What more could you ask for? I like Maltby, but there is a reason that no other team signed him during the summer.I know he still has the desire to play but there are other guys on the team who are better than him and they deserve their chance. It is no fun getting old, but there comes a day when everyone has to accept that they are not the player that they used to be.

He is such a great guy. I am happy that he is able to stay in the organization.

Even though they lost it was a fun game to watch. I thought that the kids played with a lot of heart. I know that the game means nothing, but there is a small part of me that really does not like losing to the Hawks.

I would still take him over Ericsson, because he thinks defense first and offense second.It's not that I have a dislike for Ericsson but it just doesn't seem that defense is his calling. I think that he would be better as a forward because he seems to think offense first and defense second.

Ericsson scares me every time he is on the ice. He just doesn't seem to have the Hockey sense it takes to be a defenseman. I am all for Janik to be our 6th defenseman, he is solid and responsible. I have nothing against Ericsson but I am very worried about how he will perform this season.

I feel bad for Lilja, and I hope he makes the team. I think that he would be a good fit on the Sharks. I like the Sharks, so it would be easy to root for him there.

I am so happy that Eaves is signed, but I really wanted more than a one year deal.Eaves is the kind of player who can be a Red Wing for a long time. He is a hard worker, and I love how excited he gets when one of his teammates scores. Who could ask for anything more?

I really like Miller and Eaves and I want them both to stay on the team.They worked hard and gave 100% every shift, I love players like that.

As long as Kane did not win it, I don't care who got the Conn Smyth.

So does this mean that Hossa himself is not that good of a player and that he himself cannot elevate his play to a higher level? If this is true, then I think that he is overpaid.

Hossa needs to thank his teammates for winning him the Cup. I am sure that he played his best, but I bet that Chicago would of liked to have gotten more production out of him.But since the team won, no one will focus on that. The one thing that does puzzle me is, how come he played so good for Pittsburgh in the playoffs but did not do much for Detroit or Chicago?
