    Pens still alive...

Yeah, I want to see that perfect record @ home the Pens have shattered.

What is up with Detroit tonight?

Doc and Eddie ain't biased, Doc is colorful, and Eddie is quiet most of the game. Now the NBC crew, they sucked. From what I gathered the only guy on the ice was Sidney Crosby. Sid, Sid, Sid, Sid, Jesus-h-Chirst, it was a love fest that was almost pornographic. NBC should be ashamed.

What is up with Detroit tonight?

The Wings we know didn't show up. They seemed to be off stride until the 3rd period. running into eachother, horrible transition at the bench, slow feet, missed assignments... it was like they were jet lagged or something. The Pens did nothing new or terrifying tonight, the Wings didn't bring their 'A' game until it was too late, they lost the game tonight, the Pens had nothing to do with it IMO. Well, our boys will be back in Game 4 roaring from this, bet on it.
  4. Not only are the Penguins classless, so is the arena they play in! http://www.ticketmaster.com/event/16004078...mp;minorcatid=9

Mellon Arean freezes out MI residents

Yeah you can do all of those things, there are ways around it. I can't afford any of those prices so I'm left just watching on TV. That's not the point, the point is Mellon Arena is doing what it can to keep Wings fans from attending. That's s***ty, just like punching Mule in the head. But then, what do you expect from crybabies?

Mellon Arean freezes out MI residents

I went to a Leafs-Habs game in January 2007 in Toronto, had to do the wrist band thing and got 2 of the last 4 they had that day. Sat in the nose-bleeds and had a fantastic time. I was expecting fireworks from all the fans there, but everybody seemed to be pretty cool. Canadians know how to have fun at a hockey game, damn that was fun! Unlike Chicago where Hawks fans are assholes to visiting fans. Hell, they're assholes to each other. Damn shame.

Mellon Arean freezes out MI residents

Actually the Wings have a huge following all over the country. I went to a Caps game in 1998 after they were swept by the Wins in the SCF. Fully half of the arena was wearing red. The whole row I sat in was wings fans. Our fans are like the Yankees, they are everywhere. People aren't going to the Joe because they are fair-weather fans, no. They aren't going to the Joe because the economy in Michigan is in a deep depression right now and people are choosing to eat and keep a roof over their heads instead of going to Wings games. Its pretty plain to see.

Mellon Arean freezes out MI residents

I never heard of that. I live in Chicago, and the Cubs (who sell out almost every game), Sox, Bulls and Blackhawks have zero restrictions on who can buy tickets. Furthermore, they don't cancel already purchased tickets if somebody's credit card is from out-of-state. My bank is in NY, but I live in Chicago, should I be penalized because of that? When I lived in NY, none of the teams there did a residency check for ticket purchases. Plus They're allowing other residents from further away the ability to buy tickets. Its bulls*** plain and simple.

    lol @ Therrien's press conference.

Wow, what a insightful post! I hadn't looked at it that way. Thanks.

    Therrien Presser 5/27

You're right, thanks for the correction.

Reminds me of Bob Clarke in 1996-1997 SCF. I wonder if he'll say "choke" later.

    Good Read

Rosenber is right, the Wings will RISE ABOVE

An idea so this doesnt happen again

The non-goal isn't the issue here, I think the issue is the bad officiating in the playoffs this year. Just about every series has had some kind of goof up, lopsided and/or clearly biased calls. We're not the only ones bitching about it. But, as others pointed out here, the theme this year seems to be whoever is the biggest crybaby gets their way. The Wings rise above, Dallas does not (see Modano's crying about face-offs in games 3 and 4) -- That's the difference.

    The Ice in Dallas...

Definatly, close out the Stars on Saturday and all this BS ends. Granted, we'll trade one princess (Modano) for another one (Crosby), but what else is new?

    Yashin wants back

What is with this trend of retired players comming back? Hasek, Forsberg now Yashin? Maybe Gretzsky or Messier will come back too. Why not? The Rangers, clearly, need more superstars. Maybe we should start a retired-and-washed-up-but-now-unretired pool.

    The Ice in Dallas...

The ice is always awful in Dallas this time of year. Probably year round too. Been that way since the North Stars moved there. I'll never understand why the league lets that arena get away with crappy conditions. I heard, apparently before game 3 the NHL sent an ice inspector to Dallas to check things out. WTF did he look at? The ice was for s*** in game 3 and 4 as well. To be fair what can he do anyway... make them play in another arena because the morons in Dallas can't figure out how to make and keep ice? They seem to have fewer problems in Phoenix, you'd think Dallas might take a page from them, but no. Playing against Dallas means you have to fight not only the team but the ice, and now, apparently the officials too. (on edit: fixed typo)

    No More Respect for Turco

He and Modono are whiny *******.

Pens fan here...first post. NO SMACK!

One thing we have is a guy like Homer. He may not light the lamp like Crosby or Malkin, but that's why we have Zets and Dats. The Demolition Man (remember that nickname old timers?) will give the Pens' defense fits. And if we get the Mule back, well, the Pens are in double trouble. Do the Pens have anything like Homer? If so, I haven't seen it in the Flyers series. Homer rules.

    Ribiero's swing at Ozzie

All I'm really saying to Stars fans is this: Pot meet kettle.

    Suspension Update

Ott was fined for his punch on Draper 4 seconds prior to that, which was a separate incident. Having said that, I agree. Time to rise above and finish the Stars and move on.

    Ribiero's swing at Ozzie

You're kidding right? Check this out and tell me who's the bad actor:

    Suspension Update

He's fine, don't worry about it. Chances are Mike Illich will cover the fine for him, well I would if I were him. Its Bulls*** anyway. Ozzie will rise above.
  23. Chris L

    Suspension Update

All this proves is how much rattled the Stars are. Ott with that double leg clamp thing and punches Draper in the head? Riberio's chop on Ozzie was stupid too. Ozzie's chin music on Riberio was no more or less nasty that what Turco did to Filp or Homer. If anything Ozzie was responding to Turco's crap. But Filp nor Homer ever chopped him for it, cuz they have class, Riberio doesn't. Its that simple. Dallas is obviously frustrated and showing it. All we need to do on Monday night is play the same 60 minutes we've been playing all year. Let Dallas try to goon it and spend half the game in the box. I'm cool with that.

    WCF: Detroit vs. Dallas

Dallas is physical too. Check out these hit stats from ESPN: Game 1 - 4/25 Dallas: 27 San: 31 Dallas won 3-2 in OT Game 2 - 4/27 Dalllas: 21 San: 39 Dallas won 5-2 Game 3 - 4/29 Dallas: 41 San: 43 Dallas won 2-1 in OT Game 4 - 4/30 Dallas: 34 San: 16 San Jose won 2-1 Game 5 - 5/2 Dallas: 26 San Jose: 44 San Jose won 3-2 Game 6 - 5/4 Dallas: 88 San Jose: 54 Dallas won 2-1 in 4 OT Total hits for Dallas: 237 Total hits for San Jose: 227 When Dallas wants to play physical, they can. The trick for the Wings will be keeping them from playing physical and duping the Stars into a puck possession game, where we'll own them.

Who scares you the most...DAL or SJ?

Dallas, they are playing like a team possessed. They are going to be tough to get through. Like the Wings they have a system and a vision. They have clutch and stellar goal tending. One of these teams will be the Stanley Cup champion this year. Having said that, Wings in 6
